Flashback: Rihanna’s “SOS” Music Video & Lyrics

Rihanna’s hit song “SOS” was written by Evan "Kidd" Bogart, Ed Cobb, and J. R. Rotem for her second album titled “A Girl Like Me.” Apparently, the song was originally intended for Christina Milian to record for her third album,  but she rejected it and it was then given to Rihanna. The beat of it is sampled from Soft Cell’s single “Tainted Love.”  The single peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was Rihanna’s first #1 hit single in Australia.

The music video premiered on MTV’s “Total Request Live” and MuchMusic’s “Much on Demand.” The video stayed at #1 on TRL for twenty days. I like the video. It’s simple, cute and it’s fun.
