I bet you this kid is pretty relieved!
The French publisher of the Harry Potter books will not sue the teenager who was arrested for publishing his own complete French translation of the final Potter book, though he could still be charged by French officials, the BBC reported. The decision was made in agreement with J. K. Rowling, the author of the books, said the book’s French publisher, Gallimard, which will publish the French translation of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” on Oct. 26. The 16-year-old, from Aix-en-Provence, was arrested last week after he posted his unauthorized translation, which appeared within a few days of the book’s release in English on July 21. Investigators were reportedly struck by the “near-professional” quality of the boy’s work.
