Genie Francis, Laura from the famous Luke and Laura is reprising her role in General Hospital. Beginning August 26th, the catatonic mother of Lucky, Nikolas and Lulu is coming back to help her daughter deal with whatever she has gotten herself into. Also known as the Logan’s murderer 
.
Don’t get excited though coz Laura is not staying. GH pretty much just wants her for sweeps, heh. As long as they don’t kill her (yet) I guess I can live with Laura coming in and out. I wish they’d let her stay and write her permanently. I mean geez, she’s the mother of 3 prominent residents of Port Charles after all. Since Luke is married to Tracy and Laura’s whole being is connected to Luke, maybe they could write her as an independent Woman and Mother dealing with having lost so many years away from her grown children and trying to get her life together after being catatonic for years.
Yah know, there’s potential there. Stop mocking up Port Charles with too much mob families. There’s the Corinthos/Morgan, Zacchara and now a Russian Mob is about to infiltrate the town. When will it end? When will characters like Laura and the Quartermaine’s get their respect back?
Anyhooo, mark your calendars, Genie Francis will be back in GH on August 26th. Let’s hope Anthony Geary is back from his vacation by then.
I think it would be great if she was back full time.
Your comment about all the mob families reminds me about what Anna said/did this past week. She was measuring the windows at Robin’s apartment for bulletproof glass and Kevlar curtains. Her reasoning was that there was so much mob activity that a stay bullet could hit the baby. I love that she is the lone voice reason in Port Charles.
Genie Francis is NOT coming back to GH anytime soon. He husband does broadway and California ia s long commute from Pennsylvania where they live.

I’ve always maintained a lovehate stance for bringing back old schoolers just in time for Sweeps. While it adds interest and depth, it cheapens the entire storyline altogether.
The writers made a big mistake when they abandoned the Lulu/Logan/family history a long time ago! And now they’re bringing back Laura to deal with Scotty’s revenge as well Lulu’s obvious need for more Spencer blood? It’s just so blah.
On the other hand, bringing back ASJr with his own storyline sounds great!
This is the best news ever! I have missed Laura since she first left and have been teased with each return! Congrats GH and Laura fans everywhere!
Genie Francis is Amazing – no one can say she can’t act – I can’t wait for her to come back even is it is for just a short time – who cares if it is just for sweeps its still good story. While I agree that the writers could have used Logan more give the Spencer and Baldwin histories this will still be great story – Where is Kin Shriner in all of this? We need to see him out for blood.
I know GH wins the BIG award every year but…I get bored with most story lines until Laura comes back and with Luke….I don’t miss anything and tell all my peeps! It’s just so much better with L&L!
