Not only is actor George Clooney one of the most handsome men in the universe (just my opinion…), but he’s also a humanitarian. He’s worked very hard to raise awareness for the issues in Darfur and is the main reason most of us learned what was happening there.
Now, with the horror that’s still happening in Haiti following Tuesday’s earthquake, George is organizing other celebrities to help with aid for the victims there. Reports are that MTV, VH1 and their sister networks will be airing a bi-coastal media event to raise humanitarian aid funds and volunteers to help in Haiti.
Clooney will reportedly be recruiting other celebs at tomorrow night’s Critic’s Choice Movie Awards and Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards. Word also has it that Sting has already enthusiastically signed up, so we expect music to be big part of the the event.
It’s an important cause and I know that most of us feel a need to do what we can to help. So far, it’s all just in the beginning stages, but I’ll keep you updated as the details are nailed down.
