Getting the Spa Treatment?

spa.jpg

Sure, Jennifer Lopez knows how to take care of herself. She keeps in shape, makes sure her skin is in tip top shape, and gets away occassionally to relax. And while I didn’t think she’d give up those things after giving birth, I do think the gossips of the world might be blowing things a bit out of proportion with regard to her “spa treatment” at the hosptial.

For example, according to one source, J-Lo will be staying at the Pavilion at Nine Monti, a special part of Long Island’s North Shore University Hospital, where she is currently recovering. According to PageSix, rooms feature “boutique-hotel-like environment, including a family seating area with love seat and sofa, rich wood cabinets to conceal medical equipment, a refrigerator stocked with bottled water and select juices, a flat-screen TV and wireless Internet access. Even the hallways are carpeted to provide a sense of home and tranquility.”

Well, I’ve seen carpeted hallways in the maternity ward even at our local hospital, so that’s not such a big deal. And the wood cabinets to conceal equipment are pretty common, too. Something tells me this is not too far off what any woman would have if she gave birth at this hospital, and certain folks are trying to make a huge deal out of it.

They also mention that food will be served on “special china.” But here’s the thing, even THAT’S not uncommon these days. Many hospitals offer that after in the maternity wards.

This same article goes on to say “J. Lo’s guests will be well-taken care of, as well. The facility offers valet parking. At the hospital café, family and guests can help themselves to beverages and snacks, and the visitors’ salon has comfortable seating, a TV, computer and Internet access.”

What is this CAFE you speak of? Family and guests can help themselves to beverages and snacks? You don’t say! You mean people can get SODA and COFFEE in the cafeteria — ooops I mean CAFE? I have never heard of such a thing (she said with snarkiness.)

Puh-leeze people.
