The cake is a sexy photo of Lane & Zack. The party – very full of alcohol. Brian is dancing with Kyon. Kirk is asking Rory if his group of bartenders are yummy enough. Jackson and Sookie have Lorelai call the babysitter to see if she sounds drunk – she’s ok. Rory comes back with drinks, with extra cherries. Chris takes the opportunity to apologize to Rory for Sidekick-stalking her. Apparently, Lorelai now has the Sidekick!
Lane and Zack are making the rounds, quite tispy. Lane’s dress is exposed differently on the top too, with a pink v-neck instead of the tight collar. Lorelai’s modification. Rory takes a photo of them all.
Lorelai asks to see Rory’s photo and spots on in the camera of Rory with April, when Rory went there for Jess’ open house. Lorelai immediately assumes Rory is seeing Jess. She has a sarcastic "huh" hearing that Logan doesn’t know, since he’s in Costa Rica. Lorelai notes how she and April looked like "pals" in the photo. Rory apologizes for not telling her about April, she felt weird about it. She keeps repeating that it was a fluke, not something Luke had planned.
Hep Alien take their stage – their first concert since their reunion, as well as si
nce the wedding! After Zack takes another kiss, they begin playing I’m a Believer. A love song for Lane!
Kirk is convinced his bartender is hitting on Lulu for giving her lots of fruit in her drink. Kirk announces to the crowd that he has fired the Yummy Bartenders. So it’s now "serve yourself." He storms off about them being too yummy.
Brian is making out with Kyon! Chris and Rory, left alone at the table, are talking marriage. He’s a little cynical about marriage, as a concept, but is glad he came to this one. Rory is glad he came too. Chris asks where Logan is, and Rory says he’s in Costa Rica for "play, always play."
"he’s going to jump off something and raft down somewhere, climb up a thing, swing around on a vine. Stuff like that."
Chris tells Rory that he likes Logan, and likes Rory with Logan. That he approves. Rory says it’s not like they’re getting married, but Chris suggests that if it changes, he wants her to know. Rory says ok. Chris is drunk, says he used to be much better at partying. Rory suggests Logan give him some tips when he gets back.

Brian goes up to say a few kind words about Brian and how crazy Lane is for being with Zack, a joke. Rory gets up to toast as well, and Lorelai returns with a tray of shots. For twenty, it would seem! Chris argues he’s an upstanding man and father, but Lorelai reminds him that’s how he became one. They do a shot. For shots numbers 3-7, Rory takes the stage to share a letter that Lane wrote her in 1995:
"Dear Rory. How was your lunch? Mine was bad. Did you have ham again? If you did, I am sorry, but mine was worse. I thought you should know that today at recess, I decided that I am going to marry Alex Bacchus. He has a very nice head and his ears don’t stick out like Roddy Winston’s do. I will love him forever, no matter what. See you at Brownies. Love, Lane."
Lorelai tries to get Chris to keep drinking, but he decides he’s had enough. Lorelai takes yet another shot, number 8, then decides to go up to toast the bride and groom herself. Lorelai takes the stage, with effort, and after nearly running into the drum set, begins her speech. She says how happy she is for Lane, because it’s hard to get married:
"Believe me. I should know. I mean, seriously, because Lane is married, and next thing, it’ll be my daughter, and then my granddaughter, but not me. I’m not getting married. No, it ain’t for me, it’s not in the cards. But. Hey, do you know what date I’m not getting married? June third. Do not save the date. Do you hear me? Do whatever you want on June third, because there’s nothing at all happening on that day."
Rory and Chris saw this going badly after just the first sentence. Lorelai is talking about the 8 shots of tequila she just had and not hiring the Yummy Bartenders for her "not wedding" when Chris and Rory go to take Lorelai off the stage.
Chris is carrying Lorelai into the house. They’ve already poured in a couple of gallons of coffee, but Rory is intent on making more. Chris props up Lorelai, to avoid the pillow-face, but she’s quite passed out. Rory gets a call, and goes silent.
Rory rushes back to the living room saying Logan is hurt, and she doesn’t know if he’s alright. Colin had just called her but the line was bad. Logan is being airlifted to a hospital in New York. Rory needs to rush off to the hospital, so asks Chris to leave a note for Lorelai when she wakes up.
Chris picks up Lorelai to take her to bed. She’s whining about it. Late that night the phone rings. Lorelai eventually hears it and picks up the phone. Chris is seen sleeping in the chair in Lorelai’s bedroom. It’s Luke on the phone. Chris takes that as his cue to leave. Lorelai waves at him. Lorelai continues talking, looking sad. Lorelai lies to Luke – says the wedding was great.

At Lane’s Bachelorette party, all the girls are wearing personalised t-shirts (which Lorelai packs into the gift bags earlier) but you never see what is written on them. Lane’s says something about marrying a musician….. Does anyone have any idea what they say? Why go to all the effort of having the shirts if they’re not even shown properly?
