Ausiello is forever my best friend for sharing this great Gilmore Girls news. And so sneaky about it too!
The full quote is below, but the jist of it is this: Amy-Sherman Palladino, the fabulous creator and life of Gilmore Girls, wants to MAKE A 2-HOUR GILMORE GIRLS MOVIE.
Question: So, what gives? There is no way you could still be at Fox’s upfront party. Did you track down AS-P, and, if so, what were the final four words she had in mind for Gilmore Girls?
Ausiello: OK, here’s the deal: Yes, I tracked her down, but, no, she did not cough up those elusive four words. But wait — there’s more. And it’s good. No, amazing. No, un-frakkin’-believable. Amazing, even. Wait, did I say that already? Well, it’s true. Because just as I was about to brand her a big ol’ promise-breaker right there in front of all those industry types, Amy explained why she couldn’t divulge her long-ago-planned Gilmore ending. (Gilmore fanatics: This is the time in Sprockets when you either lean on a heavy object or just sit down.) In the next year or two, she hopes to make — wait for it — a two-hour Gilmore Girls TV-movie that ties up all those loose threads! I nearly fell over when she said it — especially given what she told me back in December. (BTW, lest you think Amy was pulling my leg, her partner in life and in showbiz, Dan Palladino, confirmed that a GG reunion pic is something they’re interested in pursuing.) And I wasn’t the only one floored by this development. "She said what?" gasped Scott Patterson after I relayed the information to him over the phone. "I didn’t think she would be interested in doing something like that. But if she says she is, I would seriously consider it." Alexis Bledel was equally stunned. "A Gilmore Girls reunion?" she said with a laugh. "That’s certainly not something I had thought of doing. That’s really funny, I have no idea how I would feel in a few years. I don’t know, I’m sure the script Amy would write would be great, but I guess I’d have to read it and see how I felt at the time." Last but not least, Lauren Graham e-mailed me late last night to say, "Could be a fun idea if everyone wanted to do it. I would do it just to get the four final words out of Amy. They torture me." Stand by for a comment from Warner Bros. big cheese Peter Roth.
OMG OMG OMG! MORE GILMORE GIRLS. We love you Amy!! And everyone had better say yes!! What better way to tie things up than to have the heart and soul of Gilmore Girls, Amy-Sherman Palladino, paint a picture of how to end Gilmore Girls gracefully!!

its been 4 years since the show ended and I am still hoping that there will be a movie!

I am still a big fan of the gilmore girl I am a single mother of a daughter and i love this show I really want to see a movie of the ending the two gilmore girl maybe getting married I would be over joyed with the thought of a movie and it would be great way to keep fan up todate with the the clan.

i hope they make a movie but its 2009 and there is no movie but i hope it happenes. The last season was stupid i mean logain and rory go throught all that for her not to marry him and he dumping her.I wish they ended up together.
I would absolutely love to see a Gilmore Girls movie. I think it’s the next best step…I was disappointed in the ending as well. The movie seemed like it was building up to a final reunion between Luke and Lorelie but the actual ending was rather tepid. I would like to see more passion between the two of them, as they were very much in love. Also, there are, as someone pointed out, some serious loose threads in the movie, with respect to Rory. Is it over between her and Logan or could she be seen getting back in touch with Jess or Dean? I think there is alot to work with here and a movie could explore all these possibilities….
I would love to see Rory get that avacodo tree and Lorali get to set sail on Lukes new boat after their perfect marriage under that Hopala Luke built. Oh I can just picture it all so perfectly now! Someday their “year or two” dream to make this movie will come to pass!

There really really really needs to be another season, I was heart-broken when Rory and Logan ended it..I think they could have been good together. They can’t really be over over I mean come on they have been through SOOO much together. The ups the downs and always pulled through. Hes always been there for her and I think she really needs him. He really needs her too to keep him leveled. Bring back gilmore girls and bring back Logan…please please please
i think they should do a movie.they left som much unfinished and luke and lorelai need to get married also.they should make rory choose between all of her exes (Dean, Jess, and Logan) and of course they should have at least one wedding if not a double wedding. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring jess back! not only for the millions of other girls besides me that want him back, but for teh show! it just makes sense! think about it dean was just a big CHEESE ball and logan was just a jerk and to immature! jess really got rory and the conected!!!!!!
I just scrolled through the posts and must say that the folks really would appreciate a continuation. Let’s keep our fingers crossed! AND hope for a great script, because without that there won’t be a movie.
I have had a quick research and as far as i can see there is no season 8. ABC is airing Season 7 for the first time, so to them it is new Gilmore Girls. I have been waiting for the GG movie to happen and have been part of this website for a number of years now, so i don’t think we should get our hopes up. Maybe a reunion in 10 years? All the actors have moved onto other roles now. I am glad that i have all 7 seasons on DVD for my own daughters to watch.

I WANT A GG’S MOVIE!!I JUST FOUND THIS SITE AND THE NEWS OF A REUNION MOVIE. I AM RIGHT NOW WATCHING THE GILMORE GIRLS AND I LOVE IT! I HAVE BEEN A BIGGGG FAN FOR A LONG TIME.
