After reporting that Kirk was Twittering, an influx of Gilmore Girls characters showed up on Twitter to start tweeting. So, there’s a Lorelai and a Luke, each pretending to live their regular lives, posting status updates to Twitter. Perhaps some of those characters were created by you, and if so, thanks! It’s been fun to watch! It’s like living in Stars Hollow!
What is Twitter?
Twitter is a social networking site. Kind of like Facebook status updates, but on overdrive. Each user has 140 characters to post messages (“tweets”) about what he/she is doing. And other users can “friend” you and reply to your messages.
Gilmore Girls on Twitter
When you “friend” someone on Twitter, you are said to “follow” them. So, once you’re signed up, here is where you can find our Gilmore Girls characters:
- Twitter.com/StarsHollowKirk
- Twitter.com/RoryGilmore
- Twitter.com/LaneKim
- Twitter.com/LukeDanes
- Twitter.com/LorelaiG
- Twitter.com/JessMariano *new*
- Twitter.com/SandwichGil *new*
If you spot any other Gilmore Girls characters appear, drop their links into the comments and I can update the post! There is a second Lorelai here, but I think the one above is participating more in the fake Stars Hollow community.
Also, there’s one more profile I wanted to promote for an avid fan: Twitter.com/Gilmore_Fan.

There are other people on twitter now, like Sookie_Chef, Gypsyfixescars, MissPatty, and LoganHuntz. But Logan hasn’t posted since November, and MissPatty has no tweets! And for some reason the LaneKim page no longer exists.
That being said, there is a lot going on with Jess, which affects Rory, Lorelai and others. It’s kind of fun to look at all their twitter pages and see the adventures they are having!

Missing Gilmore Girls…
I came to grips with my love (and public embrace) of the show Gilmore Girls some time ago, but I’m not “out” at work. Or, rather, I’m not out with my current group of co-workers because:
I’m in a different group since the…

Has anyone done any kind of summary of what has gone on in the GG Twitter world? I’m interested to know where they took the story. I started to skim the Rory account today, but they’ve been at this awhile!

Since I last posted, Miss Patty has disappeared from Twitter, and a few have been added – LaneLovesZach, SelectmanTaylor, and EmilyGilmore. Luke & Lorelai are getting married in June, there was some kind of festival where Rory dressed up like a butterfly and kids chased her with butterfly nets, and there was a fire at the bookstore where Jess works. Lots of the posts are just everyday stuff, like going to Friday night dinner or eating at Al’s Pancake World, but some of it gets pretty interesting. You either have to check in every few days, or get an account and add them to the list you’re following, if you want to keep up. It’s great fun to read, though, and whoever started doing EmilyGilmore has the character just as you would expect – hilarious!
