Chris and Lorelai in the kitchen – I am assuming she had a reno done? lol, nope. They are just "testing" a kitchen out on a real estate tour. It’s a nice place, but not funky enough for Lorelai I don’t think. Yikes, it’s not Stars Hollow! WTF is Chris thinking?

"Honey, I can’t imagine a better house." – Lorelai

Ok, who stole my Lorelai and replaced her with a polite, rather snooty woman who likes sculptured trees and marble sinks??

Well, at least she has some sense. She won’t leave Stars Hollow. And Chris gets the vibe that she doesn’t even want to move at all. She likes her house. At least Chris knows when to give up.

Lorelai goes over to see Emily to plan the wedding party. She introduces her to the party planner, Randall Farber. He used to work on Opera’s – sounds very over-the-top, hey?

Order number one: choosing a theme for the party. And Lorelai tries to say "it’s just a party" in front of the party planner. Hehe.

Kirk is at the diner trying to sell Christmas paper to Miss Patty, but she already bought hers from the school kids. Kirk says she got ripped off. Except his is going to his own charity – himself.

Liz arrives with the baby, Doula. Really cute. Liz asks if April is excited about being a cousin, and she is. Liz asks about Anna. Luke says he’s calmed down. Made a list of things he wants as a parent. Visitation agreement stipulations. Sounds reasonable and responsible. Liz thinks Luke should get a lawyer.

Then Liz leaves Doula with Luke for an hour. Ah, the look of panic on his face. Precious.

Randall is still showing his table settings. Most are fairly lame, don’t you think? Lorelai just wants to laugh at him, which is rather rude. Rory calls and Lorelai tries to use it as a help call to get out, but Emily overhears Rory. Rory was just ditching on her dinner plans with Lorelai to see Logan. And Lorelai confirms he’ll be at the party – she is "padding" the guest list. In the whole "double digits" now – so I guess she is still not inviting Stars Hollow folks.

Really, if Lorelai whined a lot less and just spoke up, that planning would have gone a lot faster. Maybe she’s more whiny because Chris is denying Lorelai her regular sugar intake. ;)

Chris and Lorelai have a very long and stupid talk in the market. Really nothing worth recapping. At the end of all the whining, Lorelai goes to wait outside while Chris pays for the groceries. Outside she runs into Luke walking Doula. They chat about the weirdness of her name and Luke is smiling a lot. No hostility.

Lorelai holds the baby and standing next to Luke they look like a perfect family! And then Chris walks out…

Rory takes Logan to the Yale Cafeteria, since he never had a meal there as a student. She tries to sneak him in with a family pass, but one of Logan’s friends spots him and slips out the girlfriend part. Almost $10 for a lunch pass?! That’s crazy.

Rory spots Lucy and introduces her to Logan. Again, another boring chit chat session. Bad writing. The only interesting part: "boyfriend" appears to get Lucy and freaks at seeing Logan. Lucy asks the inevitable "How do you two know each other?" but Marty evades with the bartending gig at Logan’s parties as the excuse. But Lucy opens her mouth again with the surprise that Marty and Rory never met.

Logan is just itching to ask WTF. Rory tries to explain how she went along with Marty first out of surprise, and then now just because she’s locked into a weird situation. And she provokes Logan’s jealousy by dropping that Marty still likes her and told her she’s beautiful. And he gets annoyed that Rory kept the entire thing, including Marty being back, a secret.

 "Let’s make a baby" – Christopher

Lorelai thinks it’s a joke, but they try to talk about it. Here Lorelai says she "doesn’t know" if she wants another kid (didn’t she have plans for little kids with Luke?!). Anyway, she says "I guess", and Chris takes that for a "let’s do it right now" but Lorelai backs off and he gets offended. Chris’ first reaction is that they have the money for it, so why not? Um, yeah. It takes more than money to raise kids, plus they both have GiGi to raise now too. That decision can’t be made in 2 minutes!

Chris asks if Lorelai is unsure about their relationship now. She is offended at the accusation but still doesn’t understand the rush. It’s like he’s testing her commitment or something. And doesn’t like his results.

Kirk is being bullied by the middle school kids for outselling them. Prank calls, pizzas to his house. And now they come into the diner all "we want to talk, outside."

Luke calls to see where April is. She hasn’t shown up for their movie date. Anna wouldn’t let her go.

"Luke, you can’t just come to my house, threaten me, then just expect me to send April off to see you."

Then she says she doesn’t want April to see Luke. At all. And says it is her decision. Then hangs up.

Lorelai and Chris show up to the hall for the food and wine tasting for the wedding party. Chris has dropped all semblance of a sense of humor and is not happy with Lorelai’s jokes.

Emily expects Lorelai and Chris to exchange vows at the wedding "party", which in essence is another word for "ceremony", I think. Lorelai is angry. Says they just agreed to a party, not a wedding.

"A wedding is a party" – Emily

Emily says she wants to witness them be married. And Chris says it’s a good idea. He, of course, will take any affirmation of marriage from Lorelai at this point. And he becomes a big baby about how everything is Lorelai’s decision. He doesn’t think it’s a huge deal to just go along and get married again. Lorelai says they are already married. Then Chris tosses into Lorelai’s face the wedding she had planned with the "diner guy".

Luke goes to a lawyer. He doesn’t want custody, just his "list" of visitation rights. In order to get his "list", he must sue for partial custody. The lawyer doesn’t think he has a good chance since he wasn’t in April’s life until recently, even if that wasn’t his fault. Luke still wants to fight, try his best to make his case, even if he has little chance.

Luke’s jealous beating of a guy’s car might come back to haunt him in court. The lawyer suggests anger management classes. Luke doesn’t want it to get ugly – but are they ever anything but? Plus, he needs to decide fast to go forward or not – cross-state battles are harder.

Lucy, Marty, Rory and Logan are at the Indian restaurant for dinner. Logan is very aware of Marty and Rory’s discomfort. He then brings up people who have had crushes on Rory. Just kind of poking at the flame. Lucy brings up how hard working Marty is with 4 jobs and he tosses back:

"Hey, just waiting for that trust fund to kick in"

Ok, so Marty is even more obsessive than we thought. He "met" Lucy by stalking her. Creepy.

So, Lucy asks how Logan and Rory met. And Logan tells the truth. Marty introduced them. Then dishes the secret of Marty & Rory being friends. Lucy freaks, as she should. But I think Logan did the right thing. I don’t think it was jealousy, he’s fairly arrogant, but he was asked directly and he told the truth. Rory shouldn’t be mad, and she should have fessed the secret herself. But the night ends in a fight.

Rory calls home with the "boys suck" mantra. She thinks Logan did it out of jealousy. Nothing else there.

Lorelai is at the inn doing inventory while Chris closes out a bar. On Chris’ way back to his car (um, drinking and driving!), he spots Luke getting out of his truck. Chris storms towards Luke. Luke walks towards Chris. Scarf goes down. Jackets off.

Chris throws the first punch. Misses. Luke ducks under and hits Chris in the middle. Then punches him in the face. Chris goes down. Luke grabs Chris and throws him into a Christmas display. Chris barrels Luke down and pins him to the ground. Luke reverses it. They get up and stare each other down like bulls. They get in a few punches. Chris slams Luke into a Christmas tree. Ouch. Glass balls have got to hurt. They both crawl away. Nothing spoken.

Rory goes to see Lucy. Olivia answers. And slams her out. Rory walks away crying.

Lorelai comes home. Emily is waiting on the porch. She is concerned about Lorelai and Chris. She says Chris is immature. And their marriage won’t be perfect. That it’s about swallowing pride. Compromising. Things that Lorelai are not good at. She came to warn Lorelai not to let things fall apart.

I have to agree with most of those who say that Chris is “bleh.” I think that’s probably the best descriptor to use for him. I’ve thought that since the first season he came back into Lor and Rory’s lives. Maybe another word for Chris would be cheesy. And I’ve always loved Luke. He’s been through so much crap…no wonder he’s a little grumpy. But there’s no doubt under all of that gruff that he loves Lor to death. And I just don’t get that with Christopher.

I didn’t know until I read it here that the show had changed writers. That explains a lot as far as the lack of snappiness goes. But I’m thinking, maybe the fact that Lor hasn’t been the same in a while is intentional. Maybe it’s not the writing in the sense that it’s worse than it used to be…maybe the writers are making her less witty and energetic because they WANT us to feel her discontent with Christopher. Maybe we’re SUPPOSED to feel like things are “not quite right.”

The thing I’ve always loved best about GG is the way it pulls you in and makes you feel like you truly know these people…like you’re a resident of Stars Hollow. So maybe the way WE’RE feeling about Christopher is the way LORELAI feels about Christopher…and maybe, just maybe, that’s exactly what the writers are going for.

And the way things are going right now, it appears that both Chris and Lor are realizing that they were trying to marry the people they were at 16 years old. Chris is trying to make Lor into the woman he wants her to be (eat better, have a baby, etc.) and Lor is trying to make Chris into the man she wants him to be (wear this, don’t wear that, go on man-dates, etc.). That shows that they don’t know the people they are now, and are trying to force a relationship to happen.

I haven’t read the spoilers because the other thing I love most about the show is they always leave me hanging…I love the suspense. But from what I gather from here, it sounds like Chris and Lor will break up. As much as I would hate to see Rory go through seeing her parents break up again, and as much as I would hate to see Lor go through another failed relationship, I definitely would vote for the breakup. Maybe then the writers will bring back the Lorelai we all know and love.

What is Lor going to say about the fight? Who will she blame? clearly StarsHallow will blame Chris!! Best show of the year so far we are going to go crazy for 6 weeks!!

  4. By sarahadoresjess

yes chris is a pusher and him and lor never really seem to be on the same page but then again neither do luke and lor. Lor is never really on the same page with anyone accept for rory. and that’s what this shows all about… awwwww.

Lorelai doesn’t have to get a divorce, nessecarly, b/c she is not legally married to Christopher. The way that they described the wedding, she would not be legally married. My friend was married in France, in Paris, actually, and she married a Frenchman. In France you have to have a civil ceremony for it to be legal! Chris and Lor getting “hitched” at a little chapel is not married in France. I think it is a little ridculous that they have written it this way. B/C surely, realistically, if a couple was to go into a little church and ask the minister to marry them in France, surely, the minister would care enough to mention that they would have to have a civil ceremony for them to actually be married! Why wasn’t this looked into at all by the writers! Does he insult our intelligence this much. I almost think that he thinks that he is writing for women, and it has to be overly romantic for us to like it or something!

They could have a perfect opportunity for the fact that L&C are not legally married to come to light. If they were to continue to pursue Emily desiring a ceremony at this party, the party planner, or someone may question how their wedding came to pass, and then surely a wedding planner, or someone who has been to France, would know that they aren’t legally married. Then they could mention that to the couple. In the position that Lorelei has been in the last few episodes, I believe that finding out she wasn’t legally married to Chris would invoke some major thinking on her part. He could be mature enough, if it is written right, to agree that they were married too quickly and they have to discuss/think about this. He is a father of a young girl, who is still in Paris, and he should make sure that the little girl is coming home to a stable married home or not a married home at all. After contemplation, I think that it would be easy to write that while, Chris and Lor. will love each other in some ways, for ever, and they can be great friends, for ever, that does not mean they are not meant to be married.

Well said Rosemarie. It’s not the twist of events that any of us hoped for, but it’ll work itself out. And though I say this very reluctantly, I think we need to cut DR some slack and at least give him a few more episodes before we send death threats. Who knows, the show could completely wow us next year. I sure hope so- but then again, anything that involves Luke and Lorelai together will warm our hearts to the show, right? :)

  7. By rosemarie

I’m sorry Ilaria but if Lorelai remains married to a sniveling jerk like Christopher it would not be the Gilmore way. She is too strong, independant and most of the time, smart to have to put up with someone like him for the rest of her life.

Even Emily says Christopher is immature. Deep down inside Lorelai knows that she used Chris as a rebound just because she felt lonely. Yes, she did make the mistake of marrying him but consider how her popped the question…she was far away from anyone who could talk her out of it, he had to “convince” her that it was a good idea to get married and the “ceremony” was unceramonious. They might as well have gotten married in Vegas.

Divorce is not always the way to do it either but it beats talking Loralai into having a baby just to trap her into staying with him. Christopher is just a master manipulator who is playing on Lorelai’s emotions to get what he wants. If she stays with him any longer than she has to, he could probably talk her right out of Stars Hollow!!!

I miss my Girls sometimes too, but if this show is going to remain true to itself, life has to happen and they have to deal.

  8. By Ilaria

…the only way for Lorelai and Luke to be together is a divorce….
and I really don’t think it could be a very Gilmore Girls thing!!!
It’s not right for Lorelai! 22 years of waiting for a disaster? I prefer her with Chris for the rest of their lives!

…and, by the way, Logan did the best thing he could because Rory is not acting like usual, she was so correct during the previous years and now she’s throwing it all away for Marthy????!!!! He’s only an idiot and a loser, and you all know that it’s true!!!!!!

  9. By Amber

I CANT WAIT UNTIL FEBRUARY! I WILL DIE BY THEN! This is going to be very hard to deal with. I am just to exicted to wait! I am really looking forward to the look on Lorelai’s face and how Chirs is going to explain it to her! Luke will blame it on Chris and get him in trouble…Chris did start it he had to go get drunk and start a fight! He was never this stuiped before and never tryed to fight for Lorelai! this is so not him. Luke TOTALLY won!

  10. By sarah

i know what you mean. its because of the stupid new writer.he doesnt know what hes doing yet…hopefully he’ll figure it out soon though.then we can have our show back.

  11. By Rachel

I liked the fight when Rory, Lorelei, Richard, and Emily fought after Rory had moved out of her grandparents. It was like a real family. First they are fighting about one thigns but then they are fighting about everything. Then they fight the whole night. By the end of the night they were laughing and friends, but then fighting again. One minute it is Rory fighting with Emily, next it is Lorelei fighting with Emily, then it is Lorelei fighting with Richard, or Emily fighting with Richard. That episode was well written. That fight I think, was better because they got out their frustrations in such a beleivable way. But maybe that is more believeable for men to act the Luke and Chris did in this episode, I don’t know, I just know that i didn’t feel the same satisfaction/closure that I did in the fight from the other episode. I think the episode was called, Friday’s All Right for Fighting, or something like that.

  12. By sarah

i dont think anybody really “won” the fight, but i think that it was neccessary for the two of them to at least try to beat the crap out of eachother.im sure there is going to be more fighting between them to come…especially when luke and lorelai are back together, and christopher is once again alone.and then, there will be a definate winner. LUKE!

  13. By riss

i actually like the DR. i wisk there was more wit and more lorelai and rory, but it it still a fantastic show.

i didn’t find the fight disappointing. luke won and that is what mattered to me. i will hate DR if luke and lorelai don’t get back together, but spoilers clearly imply they will.

    peace out

  14. By Rachel

I have to say that I thought that the fight was a little bit dissappointing. Nothing was solved, no one really won, and it was a little more violent then what is normal for GG. I am not saying there were never any fists thrown in GG because obviously there have been some physical displays of anger, but usually there is more solved, more closure. But I am sure that SURELY, they are going to address it more in the next new episode, and the ending was only meant to keep us hanging on.

  15. By Obbsessed GG fan!

I totally agree with what everybody said! Luke’s character has been true thgoughout the whole show and Chris is just..YUCK! I dont like Chris only because he thinks he can come into Lorelai’s life and just toss some money at her to get her back. Um HELLO! wasnt that what she was running away from! She moved from Stars Hollow to get away from her parents plan for her and their money. Chris would know that.. because he would run out of the house with her and im sure Lorelai told him her feelings about her parents and he should have put two and two together! Luke hasnt been about money until he and Lorelai got together and he wanted to buy her a house (Twickum house (SP)) and she refused because she wants to have the house where he life started and where she raised Rory. Luke was very understanding and decided to remodel her house and extend it just to make her happy! That was so sweet of him! I cant imagine Chris doing ANYTHING like that. Chris would want to move to a big city and live a $$ expensive apratment and live off his money and have kids out the ying yang!

Lorelai doesnt want that! She belongs in Stars Hollow! Can you invision the looks on everyone’s faces if Lorelai moved out of stars hollow?! even Taylor would be bawling! I HATE the knew writers now they have taken the spirit and the connection of the shows true meaning! AMY PLEASE COME BACK WE NEED YOU TO RECLAIM YOUR SHOW AND MAKE IT BETTER! WE ALL WOULD BE SO HAPPY!

    Love you all :)

    Amiee

did anyone notice when ever Lorelei was talking to Luke with Doola, Lorelei hid her ring when she was standing there… she kept putting her hand over it… i think she still loves luke… it makes me sick that she can’t relize it yet but i was kinda satisfied with the fight i mean i wanted to see chris get beat and in my opinion he did… he got hit in the face more times and takling is what a sissy does when he keeps missing punches.

  17. By Andrés

¿When is the prime time of the Show in USA? Here in Chile the show is retarded, i mean, actually we are in the fifth chapter….you can imagine my suffer

    kisses to you ladies

    A.

  18. By Rachelle

I absolutely agree with all the L/L fans here. Chris is such a pusher !!

  19. By sarah

haha….thats amazing….i love it when guys love those girly shows and watch ‘em even though they sometimes wont admit it cause they get embarrassed or something…it is a soap opera, and sadly, GG is sorta becoming one now also. i miss the old comedy. without luke and lorelai being together, its lost that funny relashionship they brought to the show….sad, but hopefully that will change soon :)

  20. By Elizabeth

ok i really don’t think that this episode was that great. the fight was kinda wimpy. they just takled each other a few times into the christmas decorations threw a few punches and was done. i wanted taylor to break it up or lorelia come see them. although i do want to see taylors face when he sees the decorations. that will be hilarious!
