According to Variety, Glenn Gordon Caron is working on Meant-to-Bes, a new project with CBS Paramount. I wonder if he decided on CBS for this one because of the way NBC acted with Medium? Anyway, it seems to be a top secret project, since Variety could only find out that it is a drama with some romance thrown in.
I’m going to be keeping an eye out for it, because I have high hopes. After all, he does such a great job with Medium.

That should be good, Katelyn. Based on his past and present work, I love whatever he does. And after Medium, I’ll pretty much give anything he does a try.
On that note, I saw a sneak peek at a FEATURE article on Medium in next week’s TV Guide. CAn you believe it? Medium is ACTUALLY getting some media attention because of the strike. That’s one good thing that’s come out of it.
And I also saw some clips of next week’s episode and it looks FANTASTIC!!! I CAN’T WAIT to see this one.
More new Medium! YAY!! (Doing the happy dance!!)
Hey, guys, check this out. This sounds promising, for both this season AND next season. Read this and tell me if I’m reading too much into it. This is an excerpt from an article in Variety about the strike and the shows returning. IT sounds very promising.
“Most ratings powerhouses — like ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” NBC’ “The Office” and CBS’ “CSI” and “Two and a Half Men” — will likely be back on the air by the end of March. They’ll probably produce four to eight episodes for broadcast this season.
One exec close to “The Office” believes viewers could start seeing new episodes in five weeks. Dramas would probably take longer — around eight weeks for a show like “Ugly Betty” — limiting how many episodes can actually air.
Most bubble shows, like CBS’ “Cane” and “Shark,” won’t return this season, even if they’ve been given a back nine order. Studios aren’t eager to spend a fortune relaunching production for just three or four episodes on low-rated skeins unless networks guarantee the show will be back next year.”
What do you think? Sound good for another season of Medium?
I’m dancin’ with ya, Dawn!
Here’s another thought; maybe a new GGC project will herald the end of Deputy Doll and Tina will have a new home on the new project! And here’s my happy dance!!
Lol, Rachel! Medium fans can only hope, right? Scanlon needs a love interest, but not her. Anybody but her!
Katelyn, I just wanted to comment on something in your post. You mentioned GGC choosing to go with CBS Paramount to produce his new show. Actually, he has a contract with CBS for two years to develop new shows, (and a very lucrative one if I remember correctly) which he signed back in October. And Medium is also owned by CBS Paramount, which is good, because if NBC decided to drop it before it reached the magical syndication number (100 eps), then CBS could pick it up and continue to air it. But hopefully NBC will keep it on the air for at least one more year. Which, according to the Variety article that I quoted above, most shows that are going back into production this season, stand a very good chance of being back next season, as the showrunners don’t want to waste their time on just a few eps if there’s no guarantee that the show will be back next season.
According to Variety, the networks should start making some decisions in the next few days about next season, so maybe we’ll hear something about Medium sooner rather than later. Not like last year, when they made us wait until the LAST minute.
Rachel,
You see a glass as half full, right? Seriously, it would be a great boost for Medium to have a new love interest for Lee who is someone well known instead of a beginning actress. Just think about all the publicity from Anjelica Huston guesting for 6 episodes.
Dawn,
Now I do remember hearing about that before. You’d think I was 100 with the way my memory has been lately! You think they’re kicking themselves over letting NBC have Medium when it turned out so good?
It would be terrific to hear about Medium sooner than later. I spent weeks on pins and needles last year.
Lol, Katelyn. Me too! Yeah, I wonder if CBS is kicking themselves for letting that one go. That’s probably why they developed that “other” psychic show. Haha! Just kidding!
Rachel, I’m with ya girl! That was the first thing I thought of when I heard about GGC new project – maybe he would write something for Tina for that show so Scanlon could actually have an ACTRESS as his love interest! Even a beginning ACTRESS would be better than Tina – you can have years of experience and still be a crappy actor. Sometimes the best actors are the ones with no formal training whatsoever. Some people just have a gift.
Thanks, Betty!
And no, Katelyn I don’t see the glass as half full. Just so dang tired of Ms. Tina, that’s all.
