Gossip Girl Strike Update

I’m sure that you’ve heard the news by now:  the writers and the studios are no longer talking after a brief glimmer of hope earlier in the month.

The producers had previously indicated that, without movement on the strike talks, only 13 episodes (instead of the planned 22) of Gossip Girl would air.  The upcoming episode (#11) is just weeks away from the “finale.”

Sigh.

The negative side of strike is that gossip girls was just starting to gain momentum…the strike will ruin that!!!

Teh positive side…with nothing on tv in january/feb…people that may not have watched CW otherwise might tune in and watch gossip girl….This is what happened in the first writers strike in 1980s…Fox was the new network whihc didnt get lots of ratings…but the strike helped them because people turned to fox network to watch shows they may never have given a chance otherwise…
