Gough: "Smallville season 6 the best"

Smallville creator Al Gough himself reveals that Smallville season 6 was the strongest ever to date.

Al Gough interviewed by Comics Continuum -

“I think Season 6, in many respects, was our strongest season to date,” Gough told The Continuum. “All the characters had a clarity of goal, and we were finally able to center the show on our core triangle of Clark/Lana/Lex. I know many fans may not have liked this story line, but we thought it was extremely successful. We were also able to introduce more of the Superman and DC mythology into the show — Phantom Zone/Zod/Green Arrow/Justice League — and we were pleased with the results, so look for more of that in Season 7!”

There was a lot that developed in season 6, but also a lot more that I think they could have explored. I didn’t mind the appearane of other superheroes but I thought because they ARE part of the bigger picture of Superman, but I thought that by incorporating these storylines in, there was a lot more that didn’t get to develop. There’s still a huge gap between Clark of Smallville and Clark of the Superman movie series.

What do you think? Was season 6 the best?
