Great Brad Pitt quotes

There is a serious lack of Brad and Angelina news right now. Obviously, we’re all just biding our time, waiting for the Big Announcement, that the Jolie-Pitt twins have been born. Other than that, it’s all just tabloid fodder or re-hashing the same thing all over the Internet.

So, in light of the no-babies-yet-news and due to a shortage of Brad Pitt lately, here is a collection of one person’s 18 favorite quotes said by Brad over the years. My favorite is the same one that made me laugh so hard years ago when I first read it:

I phoned my grandparents and my grandfather said ‘we saw your movie’. ‘Which one?’ I said. He shouted ‘Betty, what was the name of that movie I didn’t like?’

Now THAT is humbling! I also liked his comment about not speaking about things you don’t know much about, because you know that when he does talk about things like Darfur and New Orleans, it’s because he’s taken the time to learn about the topics, and he is speaking of things he’s researched.

What was your favorite on the list?

(Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a great day and got some awesome gifts including a really nice zoom lens for my camera, I can’t wait to play with it. Also, I think it was Ligaya who mentioned the quote site – thanks!)

I love most of Brad’s quotes, but the Grandpa one also tickles me. It’s typical elder speak.

@Mary Ann re: the pics I totally agree.

Am not too worried about her resting in hospital, Julia Roberts had to rest in in hospital for about 4 weeks.

Also both JLo and the red head from Desperate Housewives had bed rest for a couple weeks before giving birth.

Thanks for the Tarantino news, I really hope this happens.

People have always wanted to box Brad into the “pretty” boy carton, but ALL his repetoire speaks for his talent. Not just the few people selectively remember, so they can damn him with it.

That’s why GC annoys me so much, he’s “jokes” give Brad detractors the courage to stand up and make themselves look stupid.

    My favorite quotes:
-Heartthrobs are a dime a dozen.
-You make your life. So much of it is all perception, and this is the form that I built for myself. I have to accept it and work within those compounds, and it’s up to me.
I find both Brad and Angie so inspiring! And don’t worry fans, I’m sure Angie is OK. It makes perfect sense that she would go to the hospital early. When Shiloh was born, they were in Namibia a long time. In a way, it’s almost harder that they’re in Europe, because it’s easier to get news and thus be worried. But all is surely well! Any sane father would look worried when his partner is getting close to delivering, even if there is absolutely nothing wrong.

A quote/story from NY movie maven Peggy Siegal about Angelina’s role in getting Changeling made (@ Cannes):

Red-carpet hysteria anticipates the arrival of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. She’s radiant and huge (they’re twin girls!) in a taupe chiffon jeweled neck caftan. The press is taking bets she will deliver within days.

The back story is that no one except Angelina wanted to make this film because of its disturbing nature — an adult nightmare. Angelina ultimately convinced Eastwood, Meyer, and Grazer to produce it. They realized Angelina (mother of many) is a publicity magnet, and having her play a mother whose love for her child is the whole driving force of the film is a perfect fit. (Mark my words: Her determination to get the film made will resurface in her Oscar acceptance speech.)

Angelina stars as a Prohibition-era defiant single mom in Los Angeles whose young son is abducted. The fact-based 1928 period drama opens in November. The film lives up to the hype and the audience jumps to an eight minute standing ovation.

Variety’s Anne Thompson talks about stars being in the Zone – where people watch you no matter what:

It’s tougher for women. While men grow into their masculine authority, reaching their prime in their 40s, women have a shorter shelf life in the Zone. Hollywood doesn’t allow them much room for error.

But Angelina Jolie is breaking the mold. While she is not in the Zone — “A Mighty Heart” proves that — she could be. Jolie is Hollywood’s first bona fide femme action star (“Alien” star Sigourney Weaver paved the way). Jolie mixes it up with the best of them. She can be tough, sexy, lethal, funny and heartbreaking, from her career-making Oscar turn in “Girl, Interrupted” to “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” in which she met her match and partner, Brad Pitt.

While Jolie’s output is uneven, she can open genre flicks, forging a path for ambitious actresses to follow. Universal paid her $15 million to return to action in the fantastical R-rated thriller “Wanted,” anchoring the pic with Morgan Freeman opposite the lesser known James McAvoy (“Atonement”). “She established the movie’s quality and legitimacy,” Universal Pictures co-chairman Marc Shmuger says.
