Hi All –
_Brain Tumor thing_

You know, it bugs me that all of their brain tumor patients have a “memory” problem. Not that I am bragging, but I had *yes had* the same brain tumor as the “bear guy” and did not have any odd behavior. Within my family we have had 3 people with brain tumors – all survived – all had different sizes – all may have had some quirks before the surgery, but none to the extent that they are trying to portray.

Why aren’t we talking about her…? She is SO out of line in this episode. Perhaps, if we stay on the same thought pattern as above, her “dark place” is really a brain tumor? Then Mer/Der operate, are successful and open the champagne for this successful surgery???

I was thinking the same thing about Rebecca! I think she has a tumor. Could she be the patient Mer/Der open the bottle of champaign over/ I had another bit of insight.. we saw Dr. Hahn visiting the therapist.. could another Dr. being visiting as well Dr McDreamy??

This is my first time posting. Anyway, I thought it was a great episode, albeit a total setup for next week in my opinion. My love for George is returning. I thought earlier in the season he and Izzy both seemed really pathetic. Now, they both seem to be growing up, and I love it!

I love Meredith in therapy, too! What a great storyline. All I can say is that it was a great setup for next week.

Oh…. and I wonder if maybe Ava will be the next candidate for the clinical trial with all her weird behavior. Could she have a tumor?

Hey mdb, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that I thought it was a poorly made episode. Mostly I felt that it was the sort of episode that means to set things up for what’s to come. Which is fine. It was, as you said, a perfectly crafted episode and I was really impressed with the theme of it and how it came together.

I didn’t find it quite as enjoyable, though, as previous episodes, which is why I think I felt it dragged a bit. All my opinion though.

Awesome questions. Regarding MerDer: I think that both characters have issues to get through. I think Derek simply has no interest in settling with Rose because he doesn’t feel anything for her.

I think the way they’re showing it, Callie is attracted to Hahn and is using Sloan to deny it. Whether Hahn feels the same way or not I have no idea. Would be interesting either way.

Alex/Ava -> Honestly, I feel like they’re trying to get rid of Ava so they can hook Izzie and Alex up. That’s I guess simplifying things but it just feels that way to me. I hope there’s more to it than that though. Alex is a very private guy, so I’m sure there’s lots of things in his past that we don’t know about.

George -> I really hope so! He really shone in last night’s episode. I just wanted to hug him the entire time.

A drag were we watching the same episode? It was all about appearance and reality – that was the theme running through all the stories. What is real and what is just a facade? It was a great episode well written, very well directed and acted. I now have questions about the essence of all the characters.

> Are Derek & Mer more alike in their fear of settling down than we thought?

> Is Callie really attracted to Hahn and using Sloan to run away from that?

> Is Hahn really attracted to Callie or just playing it up for Sloan?

> What really is Rebecca/Ava’s problem or is she just playing Alex?

> What is in Alex’s past that he is so protective of Rebecca?Ava?

> Is George really growing a set and becoming a man?
