Grey’s Anatomy returns all-new next week with episode 5.13 “Stairway to Heaven.” This episode should give us the conclusion to the William Dunn/serial killer arc we’ve been watching for a couple of weeks now.
Going by the promo, it looks like the next episode is going to be pretty intense.
We’ve got:
- A serial killer donating his organs to save a young boy
- Mark getting hurt (somehow…)
- Bailey looking really torn
- Derek asking (Bailey?) an interesting question: “Am I an executioner or a surgeon?”
- Derek talking about proposing to Meredith (Well, we saw it coming, but still, yay! Hard to say if the proposal actually happens in this episode though)
- Izzie slapping Denny (Must be strange to slap a figment of your imagination)
Can’t. Wait.

I bet Derek *is* talking to Bailey with the ‘executioner or surgeon’ bit — she probably wants to let Eric Stoltz die to save her patient, and he wants to save him so that he [the serial killer] can go back to jail and be properly punished.
