i think that although derek made a mistake during the first surgery and feels obligated to save the mother’s life, he is going to the extremes. she won’t be able to be a mother or wife if she is a vegatable

She will definately be a vegtable. I think Derek or someone else should talk to her husband because he said save her at all costs. Derek feels obligated to him to keep her alive and obligated to her to save the baby. Tough decision. It will be interesting what the writers do and what this does to Derek’s character. Great writing.

If he’s taken out her temporal lobe and is working on her frontal lobe, if she survives, she’ll be a vegetable. (Nursing student here.) Addison’s right and Derek isn’t.
