Grey’s Anatomy is once again all new tonight with episode 5.07 “Rise Up.”
So what can we look forward to tonight? Well, let’s see. From what we know already, Callie and Erica part ways and Erica never comes back. Bye, Brooke Smith. Some of us will miss you!We also know that Jeffrey Dean Morgan makes another appearance in the episode, and it sounds like Izzie isn’t going to have an easy time of things in this episode.
ABC tells us that in tonight’s episode:
- The Chief announces a solo surgery award
- Bailey gets to dispense more sage advice when Derek turns to her with his Meredith problems (apparently, Cristina is getting in the way of their relationship).
- And Erica discovers that one of her longtime patient shares a connection with one of the residents
As always, feel free to discuss the episode before, during and after!

This ep was gold. I loved it from start to finish. And the whole Denny thing made me cry my eyes out. Man, I love Izzie and Denny. Compared to it, Izzie and Alex just make me cringe.

Very Entertaining episode.Erica Hahn was a pest as usual and chief really shook her up like she deserved to be.Shepherd,Poor guy.i pity him.Izzie.Same thing. The best part of the episode is Mark Sloan hitting on Cristina and getting laughed at to his face and his line to shepherd “that woman is not a single malt scotch my friend. She’s bad cheap wine that gives you a headache you can feel in your teeth” was simply hilarious

I have always wanted Jeffery Dean Morgan to come back to the show but I really wanted it to be in a way that him and Izzie could be together. I don’t know how this whole seeing the dead is going to play out but I really wish that they would come up with a good plot for him to come back, ya know, alive. I’m not sure how that’s possible but GRR! they shouldn’t have killed him off in the first place! oooh! I know, It could have all been a dream and he still really is alive! lol

They brought Brooke Smith in to replace Isaiah Washington’s position at the hospital. It was doomed from the start. The arrogance of her character during the Denny thing was brought into the role. Bring Burke back – please…

I bawled my eyes out during the part where the old man was trying to revive his wife.

That has to be the worst writeoff of a character EVER. Seriously, ABC? Seriously? Ifyou really felt the need to fire one of your most talented actors, couldn’t you at least have given her a few episodes for a proper send off? What is this show coming to?

I thought it was a really good episode… I really felt or Izzie while having to deal with the Denny thing coming back to “haunt” her. I really liked that couple and I too wish they could have kept him on the show. Plus they had to old man and his wife… omg, that was so sad!!!
I was never a fan of the character of Erica Hahn, like someone else said I felt like she was constantly a pest and mean to everyone (except Callie). I also didn’t think that the chemistry was there between Erica and Callie to have a romantic relationship so I was hoping they wouldn’t keep them together for too long. I really liked Mark and Callie together so I hope that they will get back together. All in all I thought it was a good episode, and I know that there are a lot of people who are unhappy about Brooke Smith being fired, but I do think that the show needs to start refocusing on its MAIN characters again.

I am happy to see Hahn gone. She is and has always been too caustic and rude. Also I am not against lesbians and gays but does every character have to be connected. Now you are connecting Merideth to Bi. You are making the sex too grafic. How about leaving it to our imaginations. You have a lot of young fans. You are losing alot of your fans and ruining a wonderful show. Go back to the original main characters and the wonderful stortline you started with. This week was very good.

I know that there is amazing chemistry between Meredith and Derek, but I have to say that some of the most touching Grey’s moments for me have always been between Derek and Bailey. They were tremendous together in this episode with the elderly couple.

Isn’t anybody ready to move on with the whole Denny thing? I love that actor but his caracter died. Izzie is finaly happy with Alex and the writters have to screw it up… AGAIN. They did not have any new ideas so they had to dig up some old ones. THe episode really good, exept for that part.
