With all of this talk of people leaving Grey’s I started to wonder if there were any characters I simply couldn’t live without? I think any departure will certainly change the dynamic of the show, but I’m not sure if any would necessarily ruin it for me. If I had to choose, I’d say I would most miss Bailey, Callie and Cristina. But I love all of the characters and would hate to see any of them go (even those whose storylines aren’t as strong this season).
I left Meredith out of the poll because I think her presence is sort of guaranteed, given that she’s the title character. But which of the other characters would you miss the most if they had to leave?

Feel free to discuss your thoughts in the comments! I figure some of you might have more than one character that you’d hate to see go (like I do). And who would you consider most expendable?
While I think Cristina leaving would ruin the show. Callie leaving would send me off. Sara really is the only reason I watch any more.

I agree with you completely I think the show would be 100% different without christina…and bailey, I really only watch it because of callie. Sara is an amazing actress and singer so I watch it to support her and if she left I wouldnt tune in religiously like I do now :)

Derek is the heart of the show and is one of the only characters I find remotely believable anymore. If Derek left I wouldn’t watch anymore.

If Derek or Meredith left, there would be no more show for me. I also LOVE Cristina. I really like them all (well except maybe Lexie, not sure I like her yet). I want Addison to come back to Seattle Grace, as long as she doesn’t interfere with Mer/Der. Izzie needs to pull through her sicknesss because she is a balance the show needs. I don’t want any of them to leave, but if it is between George and Izzie, I have to pick George to go. Sad though.

i have to say if izzy left i wouldnt be able to watch it because it would just be so deppressing, shes the sunshine in a drama filled show. But i believe that if any of Bailey, Christina, Derek, George, Meredith, Callie, McSteamy (i need my hot strong guy!!!!) or the chief (the voice f reason within a loopy hospital!) left the show wouldnt crumple, because they all offer something that keeps them in balance and makes the show watchable!!
