What did everyone think of the finale?
I’ll reserve my thoughts for the comments and for a recap tomorrow – don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Loved the season, but am getting fed up with the back and forth with Meredith and Derek. Leave them together for a while in peace. Do not let Burke or George leave as that will hurt the show. I would like to have kept Denny-he is a honey too.
Finale was a let down due to them not getting married. Callie as Chief Resident is a laugh too.
If everyone was happy and fine in the show….
would it be exciting?
not………
I thought it was good, just hope george and burke come back!
I just wanted to let everyone know that if you listen to the podcast which the two greys anatomy writers made..they talked about what thier goal was for the season finale was. they said they wanted to “burn everything to the ground” meaning the relationships and all, so they could start fresh next season with all new storyline. I think they did a great job and accmplished thier goal! im excited for next season because i know it will be excellent! the podcast i mentioned is a review of the finale episode by Shonda Rhymes and the other writer. it can be found on the abc.com website
Can I first give props to that DRESS!!! Even though the wedding was a train wreck…the dress was absolutely beautiful on Sandra Oh. SHE WAS A BEAUT IN THAT DRESS!
Secondly, I heard the podcast as well and yes…it certainly is a way of creating different connections in the next season. By creating all of these fissures in the existing relationships, everyone is open to move forward. Letting everyone remain together would make the show stagnant. It also opens up the whole “Lexi Grey vs Merideth Grey for McDreamy” possibility. MY GOODNESS, when I heard her say her name, I nearly s@#T my pants. (Sorry if I’m overzealous with my wording).
Merideth, having been so dark and twisty this season, needs changes to be made in order for the dark and twisty to get better…or worse. It could go either way.
George: I don’t know if he’ll be back, but he’s got a lot to answer for if he does. A wife knows that “look” that a woman gets when they are talking about loving a man…and Callie knows something happened between George and Izzie. The showdown begins September.
Alex: Falling more in love with him every episode this year. Starting out as the coldhearted ass…and becoming the truest heart of the intern bunch…he loves Ava. How could you not see it. But it could also be that kind of relationship love that forms from traumatic events. He did save her life, and that is and means a lot. Alex getting to know her over the latter weeks of the season though, cemented (to me, at least) that he has both heart and passion unlike that of any of the other interns. While they all have gone furthest in their respective relationships, Alex has gone furthest in meaning.
Burke & Christine: My heart broke when she started crying. Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone.
Third, I don’t know about the whole contractual issues with the stars, but I do look forward to the spin-off, “Private Practices”, this fall. To me, it’s just going to be more good television….SERIOUSLY!!
Enough from me……Seriously, someone shut me up!!!! See you all next season!

“Dr Richard Webber, Dr Preston Burke, Dr Derek Shepherd, Dr Miranda Bailey, Dr Addison Montgomery, Dr Christina Yang, Dr Meredith Grey, Dr George O’Malley, Dr Isobel Stevens, Dr Alex Karev, Dr Calliope Torres and last but not least Dr Mark Sloan…”
They were perfect…do we need more or can we afford to loose one of them…? the answer is NO…they were just PERFECT together in the show…
Miss SHONDA and team…pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease…
hey guys …. do someone know when the 4 Seoson starts……. tx susi
Season 3 finale was awful. All of the characters are totally out of sync with how they were originally portrayed. It wasn’t character development it was character assassination. Nothing about the writing was unbelievable. Let’s start a petition to not watch the show unless the Shonda Rhimes and the other writers assure us that this season was a dream or nightmare for that matter.
What Anna said made me happy. It should happen like that. Lexi should go away. Or get with Alex or Mark. Cause addison might leave. She’s got that new show anyways. Maybe she will show up in a few episodes. I really love her character!! But lexi better stay away from mcdreamy.Quote: Anna “Well…I think all the mess stemmed from the chief’s decision to make Derek chief. Derek told Burke at the altar that he wasn’t named chief and that him and Meredith might not make it. I think that’s why he told Christina he was letting her go. I think Burke will be chief next season and I think Derek and Meredith with get married. I think Burke wanted Chief more than Derek and I think Derek wanted to get married more than Burke.
As chief, I think Burke will help O’Malley get a second chance to take his intern exam, after all O’Malley helped Meredith. O’Malley’s Burke’s guy. I have no idea what will happen with Callie and Izzie. Maybe, he’ll dump them both and go for Lexy Gray. Maybe, he’ll repeat his intern year with her.
(-:”
tasia,
Burke was fired from the show last week which will change a lot of things. I haven’t heard any news about derek and meredith. I hope shondra is kind to us with their story.
I think the writers need to take a page out of the OC writers book, that show went downhill rapidly when they took out Marissa and attempted to replace her with her little sister, hmmm sounding too familar, eventually Grey’s will be taken off telly too because of low credit ratings! Obvious from these discussion postings, that everyone is gettin over it
I know that burke was fired. It would just be nice if it turned out that way. Somehow. But it can’t this is grey’s anatomy. Most things should be fine. as long as they don’t try replacing anyone with characters with identical personalities of the people who left. And Lexi…. *sigh* hate much?
They can’t replace actors with new ones who share the same characteristics. Sorry about being tongue tied before.
I just started watching Grey’s Anatomy in the middle of the third season when they began showing the series on Lifetime from the beginning (Sunday nights at 11:00). I was hooked after the first episode, so I checked out the first and second seasons from a library, and have since purchased them both (and watched them both twice).
Anyway, I just caught about half of season three, if that, so I am way behind. I am reserving my copy of season three on DVD, which is available September 11, so I can be all caught up for season four.
I was disappointed with the finale, but I didn’t feel all that emotional about it because I didn’t see the entire season. I still see the characters as they were in the first two seasons.
Personally, I always thought Burke was arrogant, and I never really liked him. I like the way Cristina was in the first season. Hopefully, she will be her old self again.
I am disappointed that Meredith always has problems/issues. I just wish she and Derek could be happy for a while, just like many others have said. Maybe Meredith will see Lexi as competition and realize that she will lose Derek if she doesn’t grow up and start making things happen for herself. He shouldn’t have to be her lifeline. However, I do NOT want to see Derek with Lexi.
Also, I think (Maybe) the chief gave Callie the chief resident position because Miranda (Dr. Bailey) is a new mom. He has been all about family since Adele left him, so I think he doesn’t want Miranda to be so involved with her job that she misses out on all of her baby’s “firsts”. That’s just a thought.
I haven’t made up my mind about George, Izzie, and Callie. I like Callie and Izzie is just starting to get on my nerves.
I wish Alex would have stopped Rebecca/Ava from leaving. Even if they didn’t end up together, they could have had something.
Finally, I am going to watch Addison’s new show. Maybe Mark will end up on Private Practice if Addison ever finds out that he did not sleep with someone…that he was able to abstain.
There are so many opportunities. I am still hopeful, BUT I have not yet seen the entire third season. Maybe my opinion will change after that.
Oookay. Too much drama? No, it could be realistic anyway.
Could be I think that way cause we had a hell of a drama last year by ourselves. A child was kidnapped, friend of mine whos husband beats her up constantly fled, another friend has tumors in her brains, the other one had a car accident and can be so happy when there are five minutes of her day she doesn’t seem dying from pain. And the love stories? As dramatic as those as well. Take me, I have a very best friend. Known him for ten years now. First, he loved me, then I loved him, he me, I him, and all the way round. Always the wrong timing. And the one who’s perfect. My soulmate. But whenever he got the guts to come, my best friend turns on.
The could be realistic!
But: If only half of the people out there have as many drama as we do, they’ll understand me saying: PLEASE let them be happy!!!
Give that happy ending to Meredith and Derek! They deserve it! I know life plays tricks on you but this is fiction. And when everyone has the drama, just let these two guys be happy. They belong together!
I’d love to have a man like him. Soeone who’s steady. Someone who WANTS to be there.
I really like Meredith, cause when there was the struggling between Fynn and Derek, I had my own, too. She’s so much like me in some ways. But this one, I can’t understand.
So, hope I didn’t bore you. Just bugs to always hear, that’s so dramatic, so theatralic, can’t be realistic. It can.

Shonda and ALL Grey’s Anatomy Writers:
I do not know if you even bother to read these comments – but I am taking the time to write you because I feel so strongly about what you have done to this show.
The quality of a show reflects the depth of understanding and character of its writers.
The writers of any show or play cannot write anything more than is in them for the characters and the plot. That is what makes a great show and a flop.
With the start of this show I was intrigued and found myself adjusting my schedule to be available to watch it.
After a few shows the characters and the plot began to deteriorate.
As the last season progressed I could see that you and the other writers have nothing more inside of you to give.
The characters are shallow, the plot is ridiculous, the show is unrealistic, the characters have so many personal emotional problems, and have so little, if any, moral or ethical character, and are so crazy and selfish in some things they do and say, that it is like watching patients in a mental hospital interact, and in short, the show has NO redeeming value and it is such a waste of time, that I stopped watching it completely.
I am delighted that I have given away my TV and I have freed up hours of my time to pursue significantly beneficial activities.
I can truly say THANK YOU! The failure of this show has taught me the valuable lesson of NOT giving my time, which is SO valuable it is only given to us one-second-at-a-time, to activities that polute the mind with absolute NONSENSE!
To be fair, however, you never promised that you and the other writers would give us anything that was actually good!
The days of great writers, like great movies, like great actors is over.
This is one person who believes my mind and my time is MUCH TOO VALUABLE to invest it in your product, which does not provide anything of value in return for my investment. Good bye!
@ambassador:
So you think they react like insane people?
Well, okay, the things that happened were a little too much but evolving emotional problems with that is good, it’s normal, that IS the way you react on so much disasters!!
You can’t go through so much things without being emotional.
Look, they’re human!
Maybe you have never had real bad problems but once you’ll have, you’ll understand.
Greetz,
Lilly
Stop making the show interesting, it’s already is.
What was that shit… look on Meredith face…….
Derek already learned his lesson on this Season… SOOOOOOOO please stop teaching him new once…
What was that with the chief position thing… Give it to the manwhore he needs a character line.
Stop messing with O’malley totally disgusting Issy and O’malley shit…
@Lois:
Yeah, think so, too, the manwhore needs a character line. The other ones had their moments, he still needs some to show more of him than just how many ladied are into him…
@Anonymous:
At first, I thought, enough drama, let at least MerDer be happy. But you’re right. The show lives of Meredith and Derek struggling along and if they were just happy without any drama, it WOULD be no drama anymore, it wouldn’t be Grey’s Anatomy anymore.
And because of this season finale with all those open endings we all WILL watch the next season, even if it’s just to figure out how they’re going to let the story continue.
It IS well written and it IS made interesting that way, so I’m lookin forward to the next season.
Lilly
