A few more spoliers have trickled down from Shondaland, thanks to TV Guide’s Matt Mitovich.
In response to whether or not there’s anything new to report on season six, Mitovich dropped the following tidbits into our eager hands:
- The premiere will start where we left off, and not a few months in the future.
- George and Izzie will still be coding when we pick things up again.
- All of this will weigh very heavily on the doctors at Seattle Grace.
- “Including at least one doctor whose reaction you may have taken for granted.”
It sounds like the season premiere is going to be a big tear-jerker and so I think stocking up on Kleenex would be wise.
If George doesn’t make it – as we’re led to believe from all this talk of T.R.Knight leaving the cast – who do you think will react the strongest?
And if Izzie does survive, what do you think her reaction would be to finding out George died in her place?

I think that izzie, callie and bailey will be most shocked because izzie was his best friend, callie was once married with him and bailey named his son after him but i guess that everyone will be sad and shocked about his death
even so i’m very excited about season 6
It’s callie with the bad reaction it’s so bad that she doesn’t even go to the funeral. U have to think that was her husband b4 she turned gay.
Pretty much everything i’ve been thinking has been said by one person or another, but anyway i’ll repeat it again just to make sure incase what i’m thinking has not been mentioned.
George dies, Izzy lives. I think that’s the most obvious answer. They both can’t survive, it’d be too much of a miracle and they both can’t die. Killing off two major characters would do a lot of harm for the show. Being stated that George was going to leave for the Army, it is pretty obvious he is the one that dies.
Elevator scene. My opinion, seeing as though no one really knows what will happen until the show is aired. Izzy is still in the elevator where as George is already on the level. The elevator doors opened for Izzy and she saw George standing there. They both looked at each other for a while and then Izzy got another look on her face. They both thought they were together again and at least had a familiar face with them. But then Izzy’s face changes and it’s like she knows she’s not meant to be there. Where as it’s like George is standing there waiting for her to come and join him. I don’t think any words will be spoken. She’ll stay in the elevator and George will stay out on the level. The elevator doors will close on them and it will bring Izzy back to life.
She’ll probably remember and when she comes back to life in the hospital her first question will be something about George. Asking where he is, or if he’s okay. The Cheif, Bailey, Alex and i think Christina is in the room too, don’t actually know what’s going on with George so they assume Lizzie has gone loopy or something.
As to who takes George’s death the hardest. It’s a toss up between Alex and Hunt. Alex, because none of us would expect it. Him and George never got along and so when George dies instead of Izzie, it will still hit Alex hard. Or Hunt, because he would feel some what guilty for his death. George joined the Army, like Hunt did. It would be on his contious. As for anyone else, we’re expecting them to be upset. Even though they don’t usually show it in their character, we do expect all of them to be rocked by this news. My main guess is Alex though. Second to Hunt. And if it’s going to be anyone else then i reckon it will be someone who was in the room with Izzie who had no idea George was even in the hospital dying.
And after all of that, my guesses will more than likely be totally wrong haha.

Well, anyone is gonna bet that the girl he jumped in front of the bus for is gonna be all ‘boo-hoo’, but really, she’s not a regular, so whatever. Anyway, it’s an idea that somehow said ‘boo-hoo’-person could BECOME a regular somehow … like, she ‘falls’ down, and ‘bumps into things’, and it turns out she has an abusive brother or something. ANYWAYS – I kinda agree with the Alex returns for this question. Although he and George have always disliked eachother, especially since Hunt favored George when that guy jumped out of the millionth-floor-window and landed on a car (Who’s car was that anyway? I’d laugh if it’d been this cartoony chinese guys car – ‘oh haw somming like dis happen to me evi day?’) anyway, ALex would have felt guilty for ragging on him, but who wouldn’t? Everyone was kinda mean to him. Then, that brings me to Hunt, who first gave him the idea of joining the Army. I mean, think – Hunt neglects to tell George he’s going to rejoin the army, George continues working, Cristina talks Hunt out of it, George doesn’t get the day off, Woman walks out into street before bus comes, having NOT scoped for ‘cute men’, bus hits other car, George fine, doctors working on George aren’t tied up and Izzie is also completely fine as a result!!! (On my Sims 2 game, I made an Owen Hunt character for the reason of boredom, and he couldn’t do ANYTHING right – setting the camp on fire, messing up friendships, burning my Derek Character to death YOU NAME IT!!! My brother said ‘aw pity, he cant do anything right’.) anyway (again), maybe Callie? Well, ex-wife gets money in the form of Allimony, OR if George had a will, it could have gone to HUnt, whatever… etc. but Callie I would imagine would probably feel quite bad. Then Izzie, who knows he’s dead, and is rumored to be in a coma, which if is true, hopefully she has hallucinations within? California-set Denny-George-and-more-dead-people dreams? yays! Anyway (again again), We’ve got a whole lot of angst, hurt and drama coming up people! Watch Season Six of Grey’s Anatomy Thursdays at 9/8c every week after the 24th of September – p.s. for UK, Grey’s starts in January.

I like you opinion alot, it’s most likely to be an option..one way or another we know that T.R Knight is leaving the show..Definetly sure..
&that momment in the elevator you’ve described with depth detail..I say “Bow” to you..
in some other case of how is George’s death will be reacted it’s gonna be a totall drama queen master case, because George is particulary speacial to everyone..he is connected with most of the characters somehow..with izzy &Calley especially
I Like his character actually, but him leaving the show, I don’t think that this is bad at all..Because T.R Knight’s role is Grey’anatomy kind of shrinked in season 5 &all body realized that.
I mean evey character has some role appearing..But, George’s I don’t know..he is quite disappearing in the fifth season, &assuning if he was going to survive which is not going to happen..he is going to the army..So..Yeah!! He is so leaving the show

GEORGE BETTER NOT DIE!!! IZZY BETTER MAKE IT AS WELL!! It’s television, unreal crazy circumstantial miracles happen all the time!! Kill off Cristina – she sucks. Such a boring character. Oh and she has no emotions at ALL so i wouldnt be surprised if she was the one who went off the deep end if George dies. She’ll probably hold it against Hunt for talking him into joining the Army. But i dont even like thinking about it. I LOVE GEORGE and he just cant die!! IZZY EITHER! (I am just very hopeful, although its very doubtful..)
I think it will be Christina who will react, because i saw in a spoiler where she starts freaking out saying “no! I can’t! I can’t go in there!”. Maybe it’s Izze because they started to get close after Izze told her she was sick. Nit it could also be george too, because no one would expect it. She is always able to stay so collected and doesn’t express her emotions that much
i thought katherine heigl wanted to leave the show as well? she’s cancer patient, i mean she has to die sometime, right? miracle izzy would be too much to bear. so can’t they both die, like george now and izzy a few weeks later?
Izzy lives and has delusions of dead people as mentioned. George dies. McSteamy frieks out because of his own complacency in life and thus, joins the Army or gets on some political soapbox about healthcare. The damsel who George rescued is consoled by Callie and finds out that the reason why she never found “mr. Right” is because she is not into looking at cute guys at bus stops. She doesn’t notice them because she was meant to fall in love with Callie. This is how George redeams himself in Callie’s heart, by delivering “Ms. Right” to Callie. Alex and Izzy made a baby invetro and Meranda will be the surogate. Izzy will relapse later in the season prior to Meranda giving birth and die and Alex will become depressed and in a stooper. The Chief will end up adopting the baby and get a second lease on being the father he never was to Meredith. The doctors will all take turns helping to influence the child and all kinds of crazy new stuff will unfold from Meredith and Little Grey’s dark and twisty pasts.

Yes, George is the one that dies, and Izzy lives. Hunt (who is used to people dropping dead around him) will be the anchor in the storm, and help people deal. Christina will freak out, (since everyone says she has no emotions). Dr.Webber is going to have more grief around him than anyone, and Dr.Baily will have a meltdown, (after all, her son is named for him).
Lexie will be very hurt, but Mark will help her cope. (With the possibility of an unexpected pregnancy later? Think back, ADDISON people!!!)
Callie will be so depressed that Arizona will think she’s not really into her.
As for Merdith and Derek? Merdith loved George, as a brother, and loseing another person she cares about will send her back into “Dark and Twisty/Scarey and Damaged” land for a while. I can’t see Der getting too worked up about George, since he slept with Mer, and Der is still pissed about it.
This makes me really sad, because I had hoped Ms.Rhimes would let George find his true love after all the false hopes he’d been givin, I mean, Olivia, Merdith, Callie, Izzy, (Lexie?) I thought they would let George join the army, and meet Mollys’(Mer’s other half sister from season 2) husband who is in the army. That way, if TR Knight wanted back on the show, they could kill Mollys’ husband, and let George fall in love with his widow, not knowing Molly is Merdiths’ other half sister.
I mean, come on! There were a dozen different ways to get him off the show, but NOOOO. They F#$%$@*! KILLED HIM!!!

I hope they keep most of the cast the same. (They could get rid of Alex or Izzy and have the show still work) and when all elese fails, they could bring back Burk, and let Owen knock him out. (That could be fun!) Or introduce Lexie to McVet, and have a few new fireworks!

i think they should not have killed him off,i get they need the dramatic storylines to get the extra ratings,but couldnt he have come back?
i mean,while izzy was flat lining,alex could have had a heart attack or something and died,and then izzy recovers and finds hes dead.
i dunno.
im just sad hes going,i think he is one of the most talented actors on the show,his eyes show real depth and emotion and i think its very important. it deff wont be the same without him.
i heard that they were gonig to have the first season 6 episode showings georges last day,but T.R Knight said no.
so i say boo to him,even though i think hes great and i dont really mean it but it would have been awesome to see.ha.
however, the writers are clearly doing an AMAZING job as the show is so sucessful and im totally addicted!
the elevator scene at the end of season 5 is so moving it makes me cry everytime
