I’m starting to think that Shonda Rhimes really, really enjoys driving us batty with her cryptic spoilers. At the 100th Episode party, she dropped a doozy of a revelation, which pretty much torpedoes other spoilers we’d heard …. or does it?
But before the spoilers, there’s this: Katherine Heigl has apparently stated that she’ll remain with the show if the network decides to keep her. In other words, if they kill her off, she’ll obviously pack her bags, but if they don’t kill her off, then she’ll stay. At least, that’s what I took from her statement. But no one – not even Heigl herself – seems to know Izzie’s fate.
And now for the spoiler, that may or may not be an actual spoiler…

Shonda Rhimes said the following:
“The only thing I’ll tell you about the 100th is that it takes place on Meredith and Derek’s wedding day,” Rhimes said. “That’s big … and that’s all I’m going to say.”
Um … but I thought we’d heard that it wasn’t going to be Meredith and Derek’s wedding?? I’m so confused.
Either Meredith and Derek plan to get married that day but end up stepping to the side to let some other couple get married (i.e. Alex and Izzie) or our spoiler sources have been deceived.
I find it surprising that Shonda Rhimes would let loose that tidbit, given her love of surprises, so I’m feeling a bit cynical. But then again, if she says it … it must be true?
What do you all make of it?

Everything is not like it seems with Shonda. Like Cristina and Burke, I think MerDer will MAKE it to the aisle, but they won’t get married on that day. No way they will. I think you’re right. I think they’re gonna let Izzie get married first.
it depends on whether by wedding day she means its gonna be meredith and derek’s scheduled wedding or the day they actually get married…since its the 100th maybe alex and izzie also will get married…its all possible

I listened to the podcast, and Shonda said that there would be several wedding dresses. I’m thinking Izzie slips into a coma, and has visions of the wedding. Or maybe Meredith and Derek rush the wedding up because Izzie wants to be apart of it before she dies, and they do a joint izzie/alex mer/der wedding, or maybe shonda is once again making us rack our brains for a bout a month and go crazy!!! aaah
I am still convinced it’s mark and lexie bc nothing about this show is simple. The alex and izzie wedding would make the show simple and easy to guess and since when has that happen? It would make me so happy if it was mark and lexie they are my favorite couple!

I think Alex and Izzie will get married in the 100th episode and I think Mer and Der will get married in the last of this season… That’s my idea, but, anyway, i hope it’s not gonna be Mark & Lexie.. no way, too soon for those guys. why do we have to wait so looooooong???
I also think it will Alex and Izzie….. It makes sense that it will be them… I have seen photo’s from the cast filming the wedding Izzie is the only cast member with flowers in her hair…. Why would only one bridesmaid have flowers… If it was Meredith and Derek’s wedding…. Meredith is wearing a purple dress (bridemaid dress)… and Alex is the only one wearing a tux the others are only in suits…..
we don’t want Izzie to leave she is why me and several friends watch the show.
If others out there love Izzie fight for her to stay.
