This week’s Ausiello didn’t bring huge amounts of spoilers in the way of Grey’s Anatomy. It did, however, bring some good news for Arizona fans: Jessica Capshaw is coming back next season! And not only that, she’s in the process of signing on to be a full-on series regular. Yay! We knew it was a possibility, and now it’s getting to be pretty near official.
Alas, we still don’t know if Izzie and/or George come back next season, and must continue the long, painful wait for answers.
But for you Katherine Heigl fans, there’s this from Sharon Lawrence (she who plays Izzie’s mom in tonight’s episode). I’m going to quote it in its entirety because it’s flattering and nice. On the subject of her first day on the set of Grey’s, she has this to say on the subject of Heigl:
“The first thing I did was barge in and hug her,” Lawrence explains with a laugh. “I could tell right away she was present and not guarded. We got to know each other as the day went on, because we would have time to talk about other things while we were waiting to work. It’s an odd thing we do for a living. Sometimes you have to get very close to somebody right away. That’s why I was so grateful for her openness and warmth, and it’s because of that that we were able to make physical and emotional choices that really conveyed the intimacy these two had. She is such an honest and open actress. There is not an untrue bone in her body as an actor, and it made my job so easy.”
Further proof that Katherine Heigl is awesome.
And now for some actual spoilers. These pertain to Meredith and her relationship with both Thatcher and the Chief.

Though it looks like Meredith will not resolve all of her Daddy Thatcher issues in tonight’s episode, Ausiello tells us that she will “reach a new understanding with the Chief.” I’m not sure what that means. She also gives him a “pretty major” gift, which may “play a big role next season.” The last part is Ausiello speculating, so don’t take it as fact quite yet. However, feel free to start speculating yourselves.

I think the gift is Ellis’ journals. This must be where the discovery of an Ellis/Richard offspring surfaces.

The gift off a baby?
I believe that she will give the chief Ellis’ journals, I believe she’ll find a way that both the chief and Thatch can walk her down the aisle, Lexie is going to announce her pregnancy with McSteamy, Izzie will die, and we’ll start to learn about another ‘Grey love-child’. I hope they don’t give Meredith another sibling… I think it’ll scare people away.
I actually believe that Meredith is the Chief’s daughter. In the episode where they were trying to revive the “drowned” Meredith, the Chief did not want to give up.. and almost made the statement “this is my…. ” and was cut off by another person speaking. I would LOVE to find out that the Chief is Meredith’s true dad.
Umm …. the chief is black — mer is pretty white she isnt even tanned — i doubt it that he is her dad
