It’s no secret that T.R. Knight’s future with Grey’s Anatomy is a huge question mark. The actor has been in negotiations with ABC for several months now, attempting to find a way out of his contract. Or at least, that’s been the persistent rumor for a while now.
What’s unknown is whether or not the network will allow him to walk off early and, even more, what that might mean for his character on the show.
Recently, new details about George’s storyline have come out into the open, and what they point to is a potential exit for both the actor and the character.

What we know about the storyline is mainly this: George goes off to war and gets injured in the line of duty. These spoilers seem pretty set in stone, unless last minute changes are made.
What we don’t know is whether or not this injury is fatal.
And it seems that this information is being kept entirely in the dark. T.R. Knight himself has no idea whether or not his character dies in the season finale. He doesn’t know whether or not he’ll have to return next season. Under the law, Knight doesn’t have to be told a thing until after mid-June.
While some speculate that this heavy silence is Shonda Rhimes’ way of getting back at Knight for wanting to leave, sources close to the show remain more positive about the situation.
While Knight’s rep and Rhimes both declined to comment, a Grey’s insider scoffs at such a notion. “At the end of the day, Shonda is going to do what’s best for the show,” maintains the source. “Everything else is just idle gossip.”
And so there remains a big question mark still as to whether or not George lives or dies at season’s end.

Let him leave… if he wants out of his contract let him out. His character on the show has become annoying and whinny, he hasn’t had a decent storyline for some time now. I think for the sake of the show, he should leave. I just hope Shonda does what’s best!
I say make him stay. He signed a contract. If we wants to act, he can plead with Shonda to give him a decent storyline. With a good storyline, he might be pleased. Look at Katie. Now she wants to stay.
It is so out of character of him to go to war. I think it’s a bad move for the show. Just another sign that they are really struggling to keep it interesting.
George going to war? ODD thing for a squirrel y character like him to do. I’m getting a little tired of the behind the scene’s drama about whether or not he leaves. Replace him with someone good who wants the job if T R does want to leave. His character is important to the show.
NOOO!! The season finale was AWESOME! George has to stay and fall in love with the girl he saved! Izzy also has to stay or it will ruin the show.
george is amazing and so is izzy and if they die i will personally rip off all my toes and sell them on ebay! so unless u want to go onto ebay and find toes on sale..dont kill the off!!!

How can George die??? From all the rumours and bits of news more so the limited amount of info on T.R Knight, it is safe to deduce that George will be written off. However if the writer thinks that would be beneficial, she is very much mistaken. Save for Izzie and George, the rest of the characters are pahetic! thoughout watching greys I felt the loss of George and the writers attempt for us to loose sight of him was pathetic. If she believe that Merideth and Mc Steamy are Greys then that would be a very big dissapointment. Goorge and Izzie was what kept us wathching, they so could have killed off any other character.
Well, without George, Grey’s will no longer be my favorite program. I’ve purchased every DVD set up to this point. I won’t be buying one this year — I think George’s lack of screen time this last year is one reason why Grey is losing it’s appeal. In my opinion, T R Knight was the most talented actor on the show. George was my favorite character. Grey’s really lacked the interest this year. Without George, Grey’s is doomed to “code.” Way too bad.
