Sure, the Real Housewives would probably never be caught dead taking public transit (funny how one of the most quintensentially NYC rituals -the subway- is nonexistent on Real Housewives of New York City and forget asking the OC ladies to give up their wheels) but that doesn’t mean they’re not trying to do their parts to save the earth.
In the below clip, the Orange County housewives talk about what they do to stay green, which consists of donating old clothes, using cloth bags for shopping, working from home and buying Priuses for their kids. Shining examples of green living. The New York City housewives do more of the same. Bethenny Frankel recommends drinking club soda “from the gun” rather than Pellegrino when out on a date. I hope you’re all taking notes.

My mother, may she ever RIP, used to rinse out milk cartons and fill them up with the kitchen garbage bits before throwing it all out, stuffed and overflowing. Yes it was gross, but that was before recycling the actual carton was an option.
She wrapped our presents in the funny papers before that became the “cute” thing to do.
We never had a clothes dryer, had to hang it all on the line.
And we had to walk EVERYWHERE… because it was “good for your health, your figure, and your planet. Now, get ta steppin’!”
She had dozens of those kinds of little ways. Crazy little woman <3
Watching these clips made me think of my mother and how she would have gotten a kick out of this new “green movement.” She was green decades before it became the in thing to do.
— Once again, it’s Bethenny telling people what to do, and sniffing her annoyance at what others do, never actually telling us what she herself does. Oh wait, she did show us … being a condescending, snippy bitch.
