Harry Melling, who plays the dastardly Dudley Dursley, has lost so much weight that he’s going to have be wearing padding for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Yep, it’s true – in a new interview with the Telegraph, Melling says that the producers kinda freaked out:
“They did this double-take, ‘Oh my God, we are going to have to do something,’ and I felt very guilty. They could have recast, but instead they padded me out.”
Um, no they could NOT have recast. Absolutely not! He also had this to say about getting the role of Dudley:
“She (his Aunt) sent off my photos to the producers of the Potter films when I was 10, thinking I might be an extra. A year later I was asked to read for Dudley. When I got the part, I thought: ‘Ooh, I’m in a film’, not that I was cast as fat and ugly.’”
Wasn’t being associated with the hateful Dudley a curse? “I kept quiet about it. Nobody ever recognised me.”
He also states that since he wasn’t cast in the lead roles, he feels he has a good chance of breaking out of the Dudley cast type into other roles.
