Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince gets the royal seal of approval

Royal Ascot 2008 - Day 3

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been officially chosen as this year’s Royal Film Performance, becoming the first movie in the hit franchise to receive the royal seal of approval.

All the money will be going to the Children’s Benevolent Fund:

“Directed, filmed and produced in the UK with a hugely talented and largely British cast and crew, it is particularly fitting that this Warner Brothers film will help raise funds to support those from the British film and television community most in need,” said Josh Berger, president and managing director of Warner Brothers UK.

I LOVE that they picked this movie; maybe this will help a Potter film finally get an Oscar? Maybe?
