It’s the curious case of the re-appearing listing: Tamra Barney, Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, was shown two weeks ago starting a short sale process on her Tuscan wonder in the gated community of Ladera Ranch. The house has been relisted and delisted several times since it first went on the market on July 26, and is currently listed on Redfin as “backup offers accepted.” It was last relisted on October 15.
On November 10, Jon Lasner of the OC Register Real Estate blog reported on speaking with Marcos Prolo, the real estate agent for the house, who said that he received “6 offers” and that the buyer was a fellow Ladera resident who actually offered more than the $1.149 the Barneys wanted. That’s interesting because a look at recently sold homes in Ladera Ranch shows that very few houses in the community have sold for more than $1.1 million. So is this person a big Housewives fan or just an optimistic house flipper?
Last year, the Barneys tried to sell their house for $1.6 million and gave the press a story about wanting to build a bigger house or buy a cheap-o foreclosure. Kind of funny how life works, right?

The $1.149mil asking price of their Covenant Hills home is alot cheaper than most of the other 4300sq houses behind the gates. Ladera Ranch homes go for alot less than the ones behind the gates of Covenant Hills! The new owner actually got a steal!
Does anyone know where they are moving to next?
