In the words of 50 Cent, “Hate it or Love it, the Underdog’s on Top.” Sanjaya is the most talked about contestant on America’s most popular show. What does that mean???? I’m not a hater (I don’t think he should win, however) and I am confused about all the fuss. I mean, we can blame Vote for the Worst or Howard Stern, but the results of our own poll on this very blog suggest that the average blog reader thinks that at least two other contestants are worse than Sanjaya.
Simon Cowell has said that he would quit if Sanjaya won, but excutive producer Ken Warwick told the New York Daily News that not only would that never happen but he also denied the possibility that hype from Stern or Vote for the Worst is at fault.
Hasn’t anyone loved a movie that was so bad, that it’s good? For me, it’s Jean-Claude Van Damme movies like “Kickboxer” and “Knock-Off.” “Wayne’s World” also comes to mind. Some people say that this is sort of the same thing.
He’s not completely tone deaf but he’s not great and he’s the sweetest person, next to Melinda. Why are we on a witch hunt? It’s not like its his fault people are voting for him. What should he do, quit? Two words: SCOTT SAVOL. Could someone please look him up? What about Nikki McKibbin from season 1??? Youtube offers a fine assortment of videos for your viewing pleasure.
Anyway, Kentucky Fried Chicken has officially contacted Sanjaya and have offered him Famous Bowls for life and to make a donation, in his name, to their Colonel’s Scholars charity, IF he sports a bowl cut during a forthcoming performance.
Even I can’t believe he’s already getting endorsement offers but stranger things have happened.

LOL. Jason, thanks for the clarification. I would love to see how a “Who SHOULD go home” poll would go. I think I come across as pro-Sanjaya but I would not vote for him in a million years. Still, if I had to choose between him and Haley, she’d have to go first. I can’t take anymore. Sanjaya’s ridiculous but she’s becoming shameless.
What I am hoping for is that this is just going to be happening until the “weaker” contestants are weeded out (in reality, does it really matter aside from the prestige of lasting longer – those in the top 10 will be on the tour anyway). Once Melinda, Lakisha, Blake and Jordin are left (if the voting is fair but Gina’s departure has really upset me) hopefully the contest will go back to what it should be about!!!

Jeanne, great post, but to clarify our poll only asks who’s going home next. Not who “SHOULD” go home, or who’s the worst singer. Sadly, I think people are understanding that Sanjaya may be around for awhile for no good reason.
You go boy, Sanjaya if I were you I would ask for the extra crispy. I love the guy. Maybe the Michael Jackson hater are tranferring all their raGE on this soft spoken boy.
