SMALLVILLE 9.06 “Society”
Airdate: January 29, 2010
I was last-minute grocery shopping (Happy Thanksgiving!) when I caught sight of the words SMALLVILLE on a TV Guide mag by the register stands. And boy am I glad I bought a copy! Tucked into Kecks’ Exclusive is a sneak peek of Hawkman flying around the Watchtower ! And guess who’s playing the famed Justice Leaguer? Michael Shanks of Stargate SG-1! Isn’t that cool?
Here’s Willaim Keck has for us in the December 6 issue of TV Guide (i.e., SPOILERS!!!) :
- The January 29 SMALLVILLE will be a two-hour movie event, beginning with “Society”, written by Geoff Johns (Geoff hinted about this last year!!!), and continuing onto “Legends” (directed by Tom Welling!!!).
- Hawkman will start as his alter-ego archeologist Carter Hall as a “shell of his former self”, grieving and being guilty over what happened to the Justice Society (I wonder if he’s coming from the future?)
- Dr. Fate and Stargirl will also appear in this episode.
- We will know the fate of Hawkman’s beloved, Hawkgirl.
Belated, I saw that the interview appears at TVGuidemagazine.com as well, and that the Justice League (Hawkman and several other) existed in the 1970s but have since disbanded. So maybe there is that guilt over what the Society has not been able to accomplish. Why Clark and the current team hasn’t known about the older society will be explained in that episode too.
Wow, this is really a mega-episode! Can we just fast-forward to the future now?
