Hayden Panettiere on her ‘tortured’ middle school!

Hayden Panettiere plays the title role in the comedy  “I Love You, Beth Cooper”. The story revolves around a geeky high school valedictorian who gets the time of his life courtesy of the girl of his dreams, hot cheerleader Beth Cooper (Panettiere).

sipaphotostwo396916-CA-SPIKE-TV-S-2-Hayden-Panettiere A Girls’ World secured an interview with Hayden Panettiere in Vancouver last month (lucky them!), and asked the actress to share her own high school experience. As we know, Hayden was homeschooled for much of her high school years because of her acting career. But Hayden said she still did have a normal high school experience! She got to go to prom and school sports, and even had her picture in the yearbook. “Really, as much as it was abnormal, it was normal,” Hayden relates.

But, was I surprised to find out Hayden was never the popular girl, especially in middle school. Hayden admits she was actually “tortured” in middle school and recounts a traumatizing anecdote that probably many young girls can relate to.

Hayden: I was never the popular girl. I actually thought the worst, worst, worst was middle school, because in high school you could walk away for lunch, do this, do that. You were much more open. You had a much broader group of friends and in middle school it was all about where you sat in the lunchroom. And it was one of the most traumatizing experiences for me. I was absolutely tortured.

Wow. It must have been really humbling for Hayden to have to face this at school, but this actress knows how to use her experience for the better. Middle school must have been a wild learning curve for her!

After the cut, check out more of the interview and an anecdote Hayden shared about her middle school.

A Girl’s World continued their interview of Hayden Panettiere with this question:

AGW: Wow, can you tell us any particular incident that teens can relate to?

Hayden: I remember going to sit with the popular kids for the first time because one girl like invited me over. I was like, ‘oh my gosh’ and went to sit and one of the guys pulled the chair out from underneath me before I sat down and everyone started laughing. So, I was never the popular girl. Never, never, never.

I found this photo (below) of Hayden when she was eleven years old, can you imagine her not being popular?! Hayden has already starred in soap operas and in 2000, was the cutest young actress in “Remember the Titans”!

im really getting sick of her making herself sound like a victim. she went to highschool and middle school with my sister and her brother was in my grade in rockland county, ny. people in school treated her like that because every time she would come back from filming something she would act like she was better then everyone else and people got fed up with it. she definitely wasnt tortured though if anything most people sucked up to her bc she was famous, everyone wanted to be her “friend” so they could use her to meet famous people. she is just trrying to make herself sound like a victim and she convienently she forgets to say what she did to make people treat her the way they did
