Heidi and Spencer among celebs on new 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here'

MTV and NBC are teaming up for a new reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, premiering June 1, and you won’t believe who’s on the celebrities list!

The celebrities include former Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, 2007 American Idol fav Sanjaya Malakar, WWE wrestling babe Torri Wilson, supermodel and TV star Janice Dickinson, retired NBA basketball star and actor John Salley and actor and reality TV fav Stephen Baldwin.

They are going to drop these celebrities into the heart of the jungle to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills.

We, the viewers, get to be the puppet master, controlling our favorites by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. While all of the participants will play for their favorite charity, the last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning the largest share of the prize for donation.

MTV and NBC are touting the show as the "ultimate Swiss Family Robinson" adventure.

In a unique scheduling move, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! will air at 8 p.m. over four weeks in June on NBC. The new series will debut as a two-hour television event on Monday, June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) and will follow with broadcasts on Mondays through Thursdays (8-9 p.m. ET/PT) for the first three weeks. During the fourth week of June, the series will be telecast Monday through Wednesday (8-9 p.m. ET/PT) with the finale on Wednesday, June 24 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT).

Each Sunday, beginning June 7, MTV will air a marathon of the week’s episodes featuring never-before-seen footage and commentary from cast members. Each network will cross promote the series on their air.

"We’re always looking for innovative ways to bring great content to our viewers and to build our stars. This partnership with NBC is a symbiotic model where our talent gets a different platform on a broadcast network and we get an exciting new series in real time. In this ever-changing media landscape, it’s important to seek out fresh and efficient ways to create and present content — blow-up models, break barriers, and challenge the norm. This is an exciting next step in synergistic programming across networks and an ideal partnership between Granada America , NBC and MTV," said Tony DiSanto, Head of MTV Programming in a NBC news release.
