When this week’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen began, we saw the guys were pretty disappointed that Seth wasn’t the person sent home. Then we saw Coi apologize to Lacey, but Lacey just stayed defensive and nasty. All the girls want Lacey out. Yikes! At least there was a fairness to it all. Each team has a loser they want eliminated.
The next morning, at exactly 5:49 am, the chefs were awakened by the percussion section of a marching band. Now that’s just rude.
They were told to hurry outside where Chef Ramsay awaited with piles of trash bags…blue ones and red ones. He told them that the stuff in the two piles of trash bags was food they had wasted the night before. They were told to uncrate fresh scallops, put them inside a bucket and not waste any.
When they opened the crates, the scallops were in sea water, along with seaweed and a foul smell. They had to dig them all out and get them into the buckets. It looked like a nasty job.

Once they got them all into the kitchen, Chef Ramsay showed them once how to shuck scallops by cutting them from the shells, then removing the meat from the rest. He told Andrea to sit out the challenge so the teams would be even. Then he told them to do as many as possible in 15 minutes and to his standards. The team with the most done properly would win.
During the challenge he asked if any of them had ever shucked scallops before. When they told him no, the said it was “Un Shucking Believable.” LOL!
Lacey was a mess in the challenge but the red team was still able to do 35 scallops.
When the men showed theirs, they managed to have 36 proper scallops.
The men got to spend the day on Catalina Island. The women were told that their entire day would be spent setting up a raw bar for the next night’s dinner service.
Lacey went to her bed and started crying and said that she wanted to go home. Ji went to talk to her and give her some encouragement.
Then, Chef Ramsay called Robert into his office to give him some sad news. The helicopter that was to take the men to Catalina Island had a weight limit of 300 lbs. and he weighed 400 lbs. So he couldn’t go on the trip with them. That’s sad for him! Then Chef told him that he would have to travel there by ferry instead of by helicopter. (Perhaps he should go on the next season of the Biggest Loser.)
Then Lacey started saying that she didn’t feel well and didn’t go down to help the others. She spent the day in bed.
The men had a wonderful trip, but Seth started to look a bit like a stalker. He had done his homework on Chef Ramsay and wished him a happy birthday the next day. Then Chef asked him all kinds of things like where he was born, the name of his last book, how many children he had and their names…and Seth knew all the answers! Creepy!
After six whole hours of not helping the women, Lacey decides to help them. They were understandably upset with her!! What a deadbeat!!
The next day they were to prepare for the raw bar dinner service. Ji sprained her ankle and was in pain. But she decided to try her best with dinner service anyway.
Chef chose Paula & Robert to work service for the raw bar. And dinner service began. Carol had a tough time with the risotto. On the men’s team, Charlie messed up the risotto too. Ben had to show Charlie how to do it.
Colleen messed up cooking the scallops and Chef had Lacey show the culinary teacher how to do them.
Seth tried to send out lobster spaghetti without any lobster. Chef really let him have it.
Colleen burned the outside of the salmon and the inside was raw. He told her he couldn’t believe she was a cooking teacher and he called her a thief. He told her to get out of the kitchen. He put Lacey on the fish station.
Chef turned to criticize the blue team and told them that Danny was cooking, surrounded by Muppets.

When Chef Ramsay told them that the women had only 5 tickets left and the men only had 4, they all kicked into high gear. It’s the earliest in the season ever that both teams could actually finish their dinner service in the second try. The team to finish last would lose. The men won the challenge.
Chef Ramsay told Ji that she had done a great job, in spite of her injury and that he admired her courage. He said that others in the room would have given up. (Lacey looked at the floor.)
Then Chef told Colleen that people who can’t cook, teach. She argued by telling him that she could, in fact cook. Chef doesn’t like anyone to argue with him. He sent the red team to the dorm to nominate two people.
The red team told Lacey that she had done well on the fish station but that she had let them down the day before.
The red team nominated Colleen & Lacey. Chef Ramsay was ready to send one of them home when Ji volunteered to go home because she said it wasn’t fair to her team for her to stay when she was injured. Chef told her that she had done “Bloody Well” and that she should keep her jacket as a symbol of her courage and how well she had done.
I’m so sad that Ji is no longer in the competition! She was my favorite this season so far!! And neither Lacey nor Colleen deserves to be there.
What do you think of the season so far? Who are you hoping will win? Who do you want to see go home next?
