Every year, Time magazine puts out their issue with the top 100 influential people of the past year. We’ve repeatedly seen both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appear on the list in various positions, and they’re contenders again this year as well.
What’s different this time is that Time is allowing readers to help decide the ranking of the 100 most influential people by voting on a sliding scale.
As fans, we can head over and give a 100% vote to each of them! To vote for Brad, click here, and use the sliding scale on the left to decide what percentage you’d like to give him. Then you can go vote for Angelina the same way right here.
If you want to see some of the other amazing people on the list, you can start at the beginning and see them all. It blows me away to see Brad and Angelina in the company of presidents, religious leaders, and major political forces.
In Angelina’s write-up they mentioned that she was in three movies released in the same year (Kung Fu Panda, Wanted, and Changeling) and that she was smart enough to use her insane fame to sell photos of the twins to People in order to give that money straight to charitable causes. For Brad they brought up his Oscar nod for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and they also made me laugh because they mentioned his mustache – we all know how heavily we’ve debated the ’stache over here at PittWatch! Still, I do with they had acknowledged his continued hard work with Make It Right.
It’s fun to be able to be a part of this year’s list, so let’s go help them out!
(Special thanks to Pierce from Time for contacting me to let me know!)

thanks for the info Sherry!
i’ll help vote.
anyway,i’ve read somewhere that Angie is filming inside a hospital in an island in NY. i wonder if she’ll disguise as a doctor or a nurse or maybe just an agent.
Thanks Sherry, that is fun. I also wish they had mentioned Make it Right.
Thanks so much Sherry for keeping us updated on these news. Hugs from Italy. Have voted naturally 100 5 for both because they really deserve it. LOL
Thanks Sherry for the information! I’m angry about what they wrote about Brad. Come on! Brad isn’t just a good, hot actor with mustache. They should have written about his Make it right projects and how he helped homeless people who are injured by Catrina hurricane. Anyway I’m supporting both of them by giving 100 for them.
I must tell you people. Tonight I watched the assasination of Jesse James and I’m disgusted that it wasn’t appreciated by the public here in Italy. The critics were excellent but the problem is that people thought it was a western and didn’t understand that it was the story of a legend. It is a slow movie but once you get in it you really feel inside the whole movie and I really enjoyed it and now I understand why it won the Coppa Volpi of the Venice Festival. It’s intense. Really I’m very pleased of the progress and the intelligent choosing that Brad is doing in these last years because I’m a bit difficult in movie tastes and I don’t go for easy movies. I let my kids go for them even though I am trying to make them understand the difference between a good movie and an excellent movie. I mean “The curios case of Benjamin Button” was lloved here in Italy. I still think that Brad and Angie pay for being too hot!!!! LOL!!!
I just voted & gave both brad & Angie 100 % most influential people. They are truly deserving people on this category, I hope they recognize them both. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
thanks sherry…hope they will be place in top 10….coz,they really deserved.
Just voted 100 percent for both of them! I am not at all angry about what they wrote about Brad. It would have been nice if they’d mentioned his charity work, but even so, that’s the nicest write-up I’ve seen of him in awhile (not counting what Sherry and the rest of us say about him here on Pittwatch, of course!).
Also, at least they were fair and didn’t mention Angie’s charity work, either, except for the thing about her donating the money from the twins’ first photos to charity. If they had discussed Angie’s charity work while not mentioning Brad’s at all, THEN I’d be upset!
I was also impressed with Angie’s write-up. Then again, Time is owned by the same company (Time Inc.) that owns PEOPLE Magazine (whom the J-Ps seem to have a good relationship with), so I’m not surprised.
All of that said, I am unsure if this was ever discussed here or not, but I found something interesting while I was googling pictures of the J-P kids last night (which I like to do from time to time. I love looking back at old pictures of them and seeing how much they’ve grown!).
Apparently, Forbes once again did their “Hollywood’s 10 Hottest Tots” list (which they are apparently going to make an annual thing)…and this time Suri Cruise snagged the top spot. The J-Ps were right behind her, though, with Shiloh ranked number 2, Zahara ranked number 3, and Pax ranked number 4 (the list ranks only celeb kids five and under, so Maddox was past the cutoff age, and Knox and Viv were only four months old at the time, so there hadn’t really been much news about them, and the only photos of them at the time were their PEOPLE debut photos).
Oh, and Sherry wasn’t kidding when she said Brad and Angie need our help on the Influential list! Currently, Brad’s average rank is 8, and Angie’s is 11. Obviously that’s far from 100! Keep voting, guys!
I did vote for them 100%. For a prestigious magazine, I did not care for the write-up either. What is this about Team Aniston? It does not matter anymore, have been four years. No showdown at the Oscars. I think these rankings are actually overrated to make money, publicity especially ranking the kids who are just that, kids. Forbes and Time cannot think of anythinig newsworthy anymore.
Sherry may I know why sometimes my comments go under modration? Just curious!
here go my votes for THE MOST influential people = Angie & Brad of course . . . . now, IF it’d been “The most influemntial couple . . ” there would surely have been no competition, except perhaps Obama & Michelle. Thanks Sherry, hope we don’t disappoint . . . Jx
joliepittfanatic, i don’t really like that 10 Hottest Tots list because they’re basing it on how many times the child was out and photographed and how many times they appear on the magazine covers which is unfair to the JP kids since they only get to be photographed once in a blue moon. no wonder suri will be on number 1 list because tom and katie brings her out all the time, same reason we have suri’s photos almost everyweek. i know that they’re only kids and that they are plain innocent in these competition but what i don’t like are the h@ters, they will take advantage of the ranking and will bash the JP kids especially shiloh which they believe is suri’s number 1 competitive. i really don’t like it when they compare them on who’s the most h0ttest celebrity baby / child especially in the look department. it’s just sick.
i meant to say suri’s number 1 competition.
joliepittfanatic, i have nothing against you and i’m not bothered that you brought that article here, i just wanted to share my thought and opinion about that poll. sorry if you think it’s offensive. peace out.
Thanks Sherry, I just voted for them 100% can’t wait to see where they rank finally hope in the top ten as they are really among very good company. Brad had mention that he really love the company he is in, either with his family or with other influential pepole. Love the Jolie-Pitt’s
I’m confused. I have voted for Brad and Angelina for Time, and have noted that they are “averaging” a rank of 8 and 11 respectively, but how does a sliding scale percentage enter into a rank? If anyone can explain it to me, please do. I am just curious. It would be easier to just rank the one voted for the most as #1, etc.
Anyone heard anything about this liquid diet Angie is supposidly on? I saw a blip about it on celeb tv – don’t know how reliable that is though?
Angela50 – The comment policy is all laid out here:
http://www.pittwatch.com/pittwatch-comment-policy/
It explains how moderation works.
dhc – I’ll be completely honest. I have NO IDEA how the ranking works. I guess they’ll work out averages or something? But I know nothing about the inner workings of it, it’s a bit odd.
mysmichelle- I’d ignore it if I were you. If I’m remembering correctly, it came from a tabloid (I’m guessing Out of Touch or Life & Style). That same week, OK claimed that Shiloh and Suri had a playdate, and Star claimed that Angie walked in on Brad, er, getting way too intimate with one of their nannies.
Celeb TV, unfourtnately, gets a lot of their “news” from the tabs, so I’m guessing they just picked up the “story” from whichever tab it was that first printed it. Also, the tabs have printed lies about Angie’s weight before (i.e, that she has an eating disorder, that her weight loss is due to a deadly diease, that she’s doing some sort of weird diet to lose weight, etc.).
They also used the diet angle last month, when they claimed that Angie was on a special diet to help her concieve Baby number 7 before the twins’ first birthday.
Basically, unless it’s reported in PEOPLE, I wouldn’t worry about it!
Angela- I agree with you about how the media shouldn’t be comparing celeb kids, especially based on looks. However, I also want to point out that, ordinarily, we actually don’t see that much of Suri. The reason we saw so much of her this past summer, fall, and a good portion of the winter was because she and her parents were in New York due to Katie’s Broadway play (All My Sons).
When the Cruises are in LA (like they are now) or Telluride Colorade, we often go quite awhile between Suri sightings. Lately we have been seeing new photos of her about once a week, if even that.
Oh, and Angela, I didn’t find your comment offensive it all!
Lucy- Actually, I think TIME was trying to say just that (about the teams)! The way they refer to the “tabloid-loving gossip buffs” and started it off with “Despite a new era of American bipartisanship”, tells me that, just like most of us, they think the whole “Team” thing is silly and ridiculious! At least that was the vibe I got.
They were just being honest, IMO. I mean, unfourtnately, the “Team” thing IS a con for Angie. Some h8ters STILL refuse to realize that it’s been four years, and shun her because of the whole “triangle” business.
