Flashpoint on CBS

Premiere: 10 p.m. ET/PT Friday, July 11

When the difference between life and death is just seconds, it takes a highly-skilled tactical team to diffuse situations and save lives.

CBS’s new police drama Flashpoint, premiering at 10 p.m. ET/PT Friday, July 11, gives an inside look of the real-life stories of the risk-filled group of cops in the SRU (Strategic Rescue Unit), inspired by Toronto’s Emergency Task Force. The unit doesn’t seem to have many limits — it rescues hostages, busts gangs, defuses bombs and talks down people from the brink of suicide. The team members are trained in negotiation, profiling and getting inside the suspect’s head before it’s too late.

In the first episode “Scorpio,” the team will be called on to come to the rescue when a disturbed man takes a woman hostage outside an office building. Here’s a clip after the jump:

With an ensemble cast, Flashpoint stars Enrico Colantoni as Sgt. Gregory Parker, Hugh Dillon as Ed Lane, Amy Jo Johnson as Jules Callaghan, David Paetkau as Sam Braddock, Michael Cram as Kevin Wordsworth, Sergio Di Zio as Mike Scarlatti, Ruth Marshall as Dr. Amanda Luria, Philip Akin as Commander Norm Hollaran, Lisa Marcos as Sally Laflamme and Mark Taylor as Lewis Young.

Recurring cast members include Janaya Stephens as Sophie Lane, Tyler Stentiford as Clark Lane and Gabriel Hogan as Roland Cray.

CBS ordered 13 episodes of Flashpoint, which will be broadcast on both CBS and on CTV, Canada’s largest broadcast network.

Calvary is the hill where Jesus was crucified.

Maybe no one has commented on this article because they were searching for one called “Here comes the CAVALRY.”
