Here's the lullaby song from Medium "Baby Fever"

20090423_zaf_mg1_094.jpgHave I mentioned lately how much I love the commenters on this site? Because I do. One of you– a new one who calls himself Ol’Moondawg found the lullaby music that kept on playing throughout last week’s episode of Medium. Turns out, it’s a royalty-free piece of music called “Mystic Tryst” by Jim Dooley.

I took a look at his page on GoEar, and it looks as though Medium isn’t the only place in which one of his songs has appeared. He also has a piece that was used on the New Moon trailer, and it turns out that he is responsible for the score on Pushing Daisies, one of my favorite series of all time, and a show with amazing music– his work on Daisies even earned him an Emmy.

So there you have it: mystery solved, thanks to you guys.

(Ufortunately, the embeddable copy from GoEar doesn’t work on this site, so the YouTube video below is of Michael Jackson clips with “Mystic Tryst” playing).

I quite enjoyed Pushing Daisies season 1, another one to catch up with.

Thanks for the recommendation about GoEar, I wasn’t familiar with that before!

Awesome find, Kona. And Ol’ Moondawg! Love that tune and it’s been driving me crazy ever since the episode aired. It kind of reminded me of that song that used to play in my ballerina jewelry box when I was a little girl. You know, the one that had the mirror in it and the ballerina twirled around in front of it while the music played.

    Thanks for finding that.

It’s has a very haunting type of quality to it. Good find! Thanks.

Kona, thanks to you and Ol’Moondawg for finding it. I ordinarily dislike it when Medium has loud music playing in the background, but this one I liked.

They use this same melody in the Glade Holiday Scent candles commercial. I just heard it tonight and it reminded me of the baby fever episode.

This is also being used in a current commercial for Glade’s Fragrance Collection.

I was so frustrated because I knew I heard this song before and couldn’t remember where!

I finally remembered… it’s featured prominently in the first Professor Layton game on DS! Thanks for the name, that helped me figure it out lol.

I wish I could buy a music box that played this tune.
