Heroes 3.07 "Eris Quod Sum" - tonight!

Heroes episode 3.07 “Eris Quod Sum
Airdate: October 27, 2008 9pm

I am super-excited about tonight’s episode. I think “Heroes” has gotten back it’s suspense-mojo and anything can happen now. Questions get answered and still more questions get asked as “Heroes” takes us on a wild ride through volume 3.

So what’s going down tonight?

Heroes-307-Eris Quod Sum-10Heroes” episode 3.07 ‘Eris Quod Sum’ means “I am what you will become” so you can speculate where that epitaph takes the episode. Claire and HRG feared that she might turn into Elle if she isn’t able to handle her powers well. Want to be spoiled some more? The rest is after the cut…

‘Eris Quod Sum’ means “I am what you will become”. What does that mean?

Is it a premonition of Peter Petrelli transforming into a villain like his dad Arthur? Future Peter seems to have earned the hatred of every other hero so he must have done something terrible in some unseen time. Is “Eris Quod Sum” a resignation to fate, that no matter what you do today, you’ll become exactly like how it was planned, and you can neither change the past or the future?

Spoilers for episode 3.07:

  • The father of an illegitimate child meets meets the biological mom/ex-wife and the adoptive dad.
  • Elle gets honest and asks Claire for help. That’s after the girls fight first.
  • Arthur asks Peter to help for the greater good and prevent what he foresaw of the future.
  • Mohinder finds a way to take away Maya’s powers.
  • Mohinder asks for another chance to understand how synthetic powers work.
  • Mohinder works with Arthur Petrelli to create a successful power-tripper.

Everything happens tonight! See you at NBC at 9pm.

I feel like a need a score card after this episode to keep track of who is in league with whom. So many alliances were formed, broken and double crossed in this episode that I’m not sure who is on whose side anymore.

The best line of the whole night was when Mohinder asks Arthur how he could put his son through his fake death. Arthur replies “Have you met their mother?”

The episode title Eris Quod Sum means “I am what you will be” and I understand that it’s a motto often used on gravestones. Does that mean there will be more deaths?

I loved when Lyle doused Elle with water – apparently it not only put a damper on her power, but her chronic bad mood. Unfortunately, I’m not impressed with Elle’s latest storyline.

    Vacelts,
I think instead of ‘dying’ the phrase means your future is going to be the same as mine. They might be referring to the sons peter and sylar becoming like their dad someday, you know, like that’s their fate and they can’t fight it.
for it to mean death would be too obvious, and heroes is not known for being obvious.
    hope you liked the show!

Thanks for the clarification Grace. That makes sense.
