Heroes’ season 1 Company Man was one of the series’ best episodes and we’re holding our breath for a repeat of that performance in tonight’s volume 4 episode “Cold Wars” (3.17). Jack Coleman, aka Noah Bennet aka the man in the horn-rimmed glasses, talked to TV Guide and he squeezed out plenty of juice!
In last week’s goodbye scene, HRG was drugged and dragged by new renegade gang MPM (for Mohinder, Peter, and Matt). Coleman revealed that the trio will “mentally interrogate” Bennet to find out his involvement with the government. And since Matt’s doing all the prying, the love-struck mind reader will want to know about Daphne (who was shot two episodes back).
Apparently, Matt won’t cross-examine their pawn like a good cop should. He is going to pry the information out of Bennet’s memories!
[Matt] processes my memories, and we flash back to see how all these events came to be. It’s a really good use of Parkman’s abilities. He’s not going in and telling me what to think, he’s going in and prying loose this information.
And what does Matt find out?
How about what’s up with Noah, Nathan and the Hunter. And a couple of “very cool scenes” with Angela Petrelli showing what the Company Girl and the Company Man are hatching together. Word according to Coleman – “They may be up to something.”
Whatever those two are up to may or may not be good, but at least according to Coleman, Bennet is not as “evil” as we all think he is. I don’t think HRG is evil at all, but he’s one of those Heroes characters that you can’t wrap your fingers around. He is not easy to figure out. Sometimes I just want to shake the man and say “quit being so mysterious, man! Tell us already! We’re dying to get into your head!” But of course, that’s what makes HRG one of the most interesting characters in Heroes, and Coleman is good with that.
I think HRG has always fancied himself as someone who can discern between those who are truly dangerous and those who are just different, and he just tries to be that guy in the middle.
He likes to be judge and jury, and I think you’ll definitely see him more and more in a protective role. He’s also Ahab trying to get his Moby Dick — he’s trying to get Sylar.
Aha! Would the day come when HRG gets to kill Sylar (again) for good? TV Guide failed to ask that question… but Coleman did let out a spoiler worth telling the world about.
You will see a picture that Parkman draws, which involves him and is very disconcerting as to how it may end up. And what it might mean to the Capitol.
Connecting the other dot from Kristin’s blog, the Capitol is in danger of exploding at the hands of one of the heroes!
YIKES! You won’t want to miss Heroes tonight!
