The scene doesn’t look anything like the one when New York exploded, rather there is a dead, decaying look to New York, and dead bodies everywhere.
Clues appeared at the end of episode 2.06 “The Line” when Peter and Caitlin
find themselves in the future, June 14, 2008, in New York at a time when perhaps 98% of the world has died from some new threat.
Is it the virus? Is Mohinder’s fear coming true? Is it the Shanti virus that the company is manipulating? Has it evolved to infect all human kind?
The next episode may have the answers we’re all dreading to find out.

Peter follows his instincts and the painting that he drew to a house in Montreal where a note from Adam tells us there is more that this guy knows. He writes that the world is in danger and Peter must use his powers again to stop it. Clearly, this Adam knows something more about Peter, his past and maybe his future.
