American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, is going to be putting all of her wacky goodness on display starting tonight. Yes, she will be starring in a reality tv show about her life. I worry about these kinds of things. Anna Nicole Smith had a similar show and I’m not sure how well that turned out for her.
Paula’s been no stranger to controversy and gossip so this could either be very entertaining or damaging (or both, let’s be honest!).
Here’s a description of the show:
“Hey Paula,” a surprisingly and devastatingly candid reality series, follows Abdul as she pingpongs from one event to another. If you thought she was mercurial, self-obsessed, emotionally fragile and out of touch before, wait until you see how many ways the “American Idol” judge makes herself out to be a victim here.
Also seen are Daniel, her stylist and best friend; Kylie, her wardrobe assistant; and Jeff Ballard, the publicist who bore the brunt of her anger in the infamous phone call and has since been fired and rehired.
What’s different about the series is that it puts Abdul’s tantrums into context. It offers this unspoken explanation: If you had the pressure of a hit show, a carnivorous press, various self-titled businesses and a zillion functions to attend, you too might be sleep-deprived, demanding and insecure. Viewed from that perspective, Abdul is something of a wonder.
Should be interesting. For some reason, it’s not showing on Bravo here in Canada. Any fellow Canucks out there know how I can see it??

Star – I think you are understanding me. I would love to watch this show (I did use the words “wacky goodness” and I asked if any Canadians could help me figure out what channel it’s on). What I am saying (by the way, I liked the ANS) is that Paula has a knack for being “misunderstood.” This might actually hurt her image if editing isn’t good.
A’kyra – I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about the show!!!
Hey Jeanne, I missed it last night but they are supposed to show it again over the weekend. I’ll make sure to watch and give my thoughts on it. I did however, hear the reviews on the news this morning and most said it was a train wreck and one person said she has ruined her career with this.
Like I said I have not seen it yet so I can’t say I agree with those reviews but will let you know when I see it ;)

ok, you cant compare paula to anna nicole smith. paula has a very important position (AI is the nr 1 show on TV after all) and has had a very successful music career. anna nicole didnt have a successful career and never any kind of important position.. why would anyone wanna watch a nobody (ANS) in her own reality show, doing nothing. paula actually Is somebody, so her show will actually be interesting. i cant wait to see it!
