Hilary Duff, Haylie Duff and Susan Duff are above photographed leaving the Harris County Family Law Center today. The family appeared in court today for the divorce hearing between Susan Duff and Bob Duff.
Susan Duff asked the court that her husband pay her living expenses while the divorce is pending. Susan Duff has not worked since 1988 and has been supported for many years by Hilary and Haylie.
The judge ordered Bob Duff to pay $100,000 in temporary support over five months, beginning in January, in addition to a previously ordered $100,000 for expenses and legal fees (as yet unpaid). A hearing is set for January to examine the prenuptial contract between Bob and Susan Duff.
Stansbury, a retired family court judge from Fort Bend County appointed to hear the case, also ordered Bob Duff to pay $150,000 of his wife’s legal fees by Feb. 1, although he later suspended the order until a hearing set for next month to examine a prenuptial contract between Bob and Susan Duff.
An accountant said that the legal fees for this divorce, which was filed in the summer of 2006, are near $1 million.
Bob Duff, a godson of the late Houston philanthropist Audrey Jones Beck who owns a chain of convenience stores, among other business ventures, wasn’t in court Thursday. After a hearing earlier this month, he acknowledged that the divorce has driven a wedge between him and his daughters.
"When this is over, I’m going to try to tell them my side of it," he said.
Hilary and Haylie are involved as ‘intervenors’ in the case regarding a trust of family land set up for them as children. The sisters are seeking information about a $720,000 loan their father made against this trust. Court documents on the case have been sealed.

yeah i agree with you “unknown” where do you think the idea for the song “Gypsy Woman” came from? i don’t think that hilary’s dad’s side of the story is going to be a good excuse. he started it and so what, IF they (parents) had an argument so he went and got a mistress, it’s STILL his fault! i’d totally side with their mom if I were Hilary.
umm excuse me JJ…wat r u talkin bout…he sarted this whole chaos if u have noticed..he cheated on their mom and he ruined the family and haylie and hilarys spirit…he is the one hu is supposed to take care of suzans financila aids and not the dAUGHTERS..and wat hilary doeas has nothin to do with the fact that their parents r goin thru a divorce….hilary and haylie r certainly to side their mom coz she is the one hu has been betrayed and left out for a pathetic younger flight attendant…she needs sumone by her side since he has his new mistress by his side..if he heard any crap bout his daughters then he is the one to blame for their meltdown..PERIOD..think twice b4 u say anythin

it sad and sorry to say this but I feel sorry for their father. Them three leaving him all alone reading and hearing crap about his daughters, especially Hilary doing god knows what.

I know because I pass for this when I was just 9 months of born and my parents didn´t even marry and now that I have 12 years I am very sad and apart of this, worse things have happened to me!!!

Oh my god. I feel terrible for Hilary and Haylie. In this christmas time, deal with something so awkward is kinda harsh. I don’t blame them for being mad at their dad either, because I know I’d feel just like that.
I know how they feel. My mom and brothers dad went through a divorce and my brother and I were dragged in to things. But at least I never had it publicized, which I am thankful for, like their’s.
