Hilary Duff has teamed up with ABC Family for a new made-for-tv original film, The Business of Falling in Love. The movie is a romantic comedy based on the book Diary of a Working Girl by Daniella Brodsky. Hilary Duff will not only star in the film, she will also be one of the producers!
Hilary Duff will star as a fashion reporter who goes undercover in the business
world in order to write an article about dating men in suits – she’s hoping this article will be her big break in the magazine world. She’s also looking for her big break in love.
If the movie stays true to the book, Hilary will play Lane Silverman. In the book, Lane is so obsessed with meeting Prince Charming that her work often comes second. Described as a “flighty, romantic” person with a “wild imagination”, she comes up with the idea of combining work and pleasure with this article about finding love. Cosmopolitan magazine loves the idea, she gets a job easily at a financial company…. but the ‘perfect man’ Lane finds… he ends up not working for that company.
The 2-hour original movie will be directed by Gil Junger (10 Things I Hate About You), with the screenplay adaptation by Mike Horowitz. The film will be executive produced by Hilary Duff, alongside Frank Von Zerneck, Robert Sertner, Ira Pincus and Jessica Horowitz. This is not Hilary’s first credit as producer; she was producer for Material Girls and executive producer on Greta as well.

Ughhhh…!!!
A TV movie??? WHY HILARY, WHY????
I want her to do a wide theatrical movie..
I hate these stupid low-budget movies that get her mowhere!!
Perezhilton is already saying that she’s on the D-List!!
I want Hilary to do big things again, I dont understand why she’s downgraded herself so much.

Ok, im not too excited about this. I’m glad she’ll be seen in a movie by the public again, especially a wider audience than her indie movies have provided for her, but still. I’m dissapointed she has to do a television movie to pick up her movie career. But, she may start to get theatrical movies after her stint on Gossip Girl and this. Hope for the best! Oh yeah and im sure some of her indie movies will get theatrically released. Probably Greta and The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.

There is nothing bad about a TV movie! Work is work, and Hilary should be happy to have some these days, as she clearly is. And it’s exciting she gets to be a producer!
