One of the regulars on HilaryFan, hd_sam, has posted a rumor that Hollywood Records may be releasing a new Hilary Duff Digital Box Set on iTunes in October of this year.
Though Hilary Duff is no longer with Hollywood Records, they do have the rights to her old songs. That means they can repackage them, as it sounds like this would be. Perhaps, in this case, it would be a much larger assortment of songs than her latest ‘Best Of’ CD had. It sounds like how DVDs sometimes come out in Box Sets – it’s just a more convenient way to download Hilary Duff music via iTunes.
Although there wouldn’t be new tracks or remixes (unless there are previously recorded ones that haven’t been released), do you think you’d buy the Digital Box Set?

I am a writer for TheSpoof and I wrote a spoof about the best of re-release but I don’t think this is true at all! HR will not spend any more money on Hilary – they hate her!
People, don’t waste your money and give anymore to her former record label. They are just trying to milk her fans one last time. You more than likely already have all of the songs that will be released with this, why buy them again?

To The Spoof guy… they don’t hate her at Hollywood Records. They may work together again someday. They did well enough the first time, so maybe next time will be much better.
I would buy it especially if it includes Metamorphosis, Hilary Duff, Dignity and Most Wanted, and the newer tracks. Any unreleased material would be an extra bonus.
Hollywood Records did exemplary well with Hilary, but Hilary grew very big and into markets beyond the usual mainstream release targets for young music artists, one of which was online fanship for Hilary Duff music.
HD music appealed not only to the targeted youth crowd, as with Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers, but has gained from the start a following quite beyond that with older and experienced listeners and listeners in other cultural and lingual markets, which cannot be said of those younger Disney artists of today. Basically, she needed a bigger deal to handle her expansion and popularity.
There are legions out there patiently waiting for new Hilary Duff music. I’m one of them.
