In a recent interview with Nylon magazine, Hilary Duff explained why she got the word “Shine” tattooed on her hand.
She says of the tattoo, "It’s just for me to look at and remember. I feel like it’s easy to lose your shine, to lose that special thing about yourself.
She continues, “When you get busy or you get tired and you feel like everything is fake or the world is against you, it’s important to keep your character and to let your light shine."
Personally, I don’t like tattoos much, but at least this is for something good!

i remeber when she was with joel she said she will never get any tatto i wanna know what made her to change her mind about getting it now..

Hil, why shouldn’t she have another tattoo? It’s her life, she can do what she wants.
I remember her saying that Sara, but times have changed and I have a feeling she said that because of the guy she was with at the time. Parents didn’t like the fact that she had an older bf, and if she had got tattoos when she was with him back then, everyone would have claimed he was a bad influence on her or something.

She has four tattoos now.

She’s beautiful and awesome. It’s probably her 4th? Leah Miller also has the same Shine tattoo and supposedly the same ma petite amie (my girlfriend). She also has an anchor on the inside left foot and let it be on the right.
Read about tattoo ink on wikipedia before getting one (and then more!), in California by law they have to warn people because tattoo ink doesn’t just damage the skin or stay there it ends up in the lymph and liver and blood, continuously damaging and lowering the immune system: causes cancer, genetic damage and birth defects. They put stuff in it that would be illegal in face make up but the people who make laws never cared about the people who usually get tattoos.

And yes, she has 4 tattoos. Her latest is the anchor on her left ankle like kngtriton said.
But with the inc and the liver and such: I don’t think you can get damage of such little tattoos. So don’t wory, Hilary is safe.
One day Hil will be a fantastic mother, and God forbid her child has a birth defect she will have life long recriminations that she caused them because of her choices. It’s not worth it.

Ok I did not know she has four, but still that is fine. She can get as many tattoos as she pleases, its her life and her body.

I think such little tattoos are all fine. She has the right to do whatever she wants, she’s an adult now!
