Hilary Duff has teamed up with DKNY Jeans to launch a brand new line, Femme for DKNY Jeans. The new design partnership and collaborative apparel line are quite a step above Hilary Duff’s previous fashion line, Stuff by Hilary Duff, which focused on the tween demographic. Hilary Duff’s Femme for DKNY Jeans – Fall 2009
Hilary Duff is co-desigining a special collection of pieces in a new line called Femme for DKNY Jeans. The line will debut at department and specialty stores in August, 2009 as part of the Fall 2009 line. The Femme by DKNY Jeans is the first line of products that will be a part of Hilary Duff’s new beauty and lifestyle brand, Femme. Products in the line will include jeans, sweaters, tees, dresses and more! Prices for the new line of clothes will range from $39 (tee) to $129 (outerwear).
“The collection mixes rocker chic with a soft touch, featuring innovative ideas, unexpected details and multiple functions. Each piece is unique; each look makes a statement.”
Hilary Duff says that she’s chosen to dedicate her interest in fashion and design into “creating a sophisticated upstairs collection.” Hilary notes that she took time to select the right design partnership for her goals.
“I have always adored and worn DKNY Jeans, so it made perfect sense to reach out to them. We hit it off immediately, sharing a design vision offering something special for young women like me.”
Kevin Monogue, President of DKNY Jeans, notes Hilary’s influence over the target demographic and how their design sensibilities have been perfectly aligned. Kevin says, of working with Hilary:
“She’s edgy and still feminine, embraces individuality, and offers a bold, experimental way of interpreting trends. We are so excited about what is being developed for Femme. It has been, and continues to be, a dream collaboration.”
The inspiration for Femme for DKNY Jeans comes from Hilary’s own life. It comes from Hilary’s love of poppies, sequins, and shine mixed with edgier things like vinyl, menswear fabrics and motorcycle details. This is a very unique combination of “hard and soft, provocative and powerful.”
Here’s a description of some of the products we can expect:
“A key theme is versatility: sweater tunics with removable cowl scarves, tees with detachable and printed necklaces, charmeuse cozies that layer like scarves, skinny jeans with adjustable belt loops for thin or wide belts. Black denim is the foundation, with vinyl leggings, tissue weight tees and strappy dresses rounding out the Fall assortment.”
Femme for DKNY Jeans will be launched with print ads, outdoor media, online advertising, in-store events, as well as movie, TV and tour integrations. They also announced that there will be a behind-the-scenes web series showcasing the design process with Hilary Duff!
In an interview back in November, Hilary Duff announced that her Stuff by Hilary Duff line would be discontinued. She then hinted at a partnership with a big clothing company. DKNY is the label of fashion designer Donna Karan and stands for Donna Karan New York. DKNY Jeans is one of the labels under the original DKNY brand.
Now that this partnership has been announced, I think that’s why Hilary Duff will be on Bonnie Hunt next week!
