Hoarders Season 2 Premieres Monday

I heard about this series from a couple of my friends who found it and have gotten addicted to watching it. So naturally, I tuned in to see what all the fuss was about. It was actually very sad to watch.

The show looks into the lives of different people each week and shows their psychological need to “hoard” things. For some people, it’s pets they can’t get enough of. For others, it’s objects…many objects. So many objects are collected by some of these poor folks that their homes are piled with items most of us would simply throw away. Others have yards that should be turned into landfills…at least the garbage would be covered up.

But I don’t want to sound like I think these are bad people. They simply have psychological issues that need to be addressed. So in a way, this show is a different sort of Intervention.

If you like Intervention and want a different take on the kind of psychological work people do to help each other, this may be the show for you. And you are fortunate in the fact that the second season of Hoarders airs on A&E this Monday at 10p/9c. Here’s a preview clip:
