Holy Cow! Henry Is Coming back To Ugly Betty!

spl28527_086 This is absolutely astonishing news: Henry (Chris Gorham) is coming back to Ugly BettyAusiello breaks the news:

Christopher Gorham has closed a deal to reprise his role as Betty’s ex-love Henry, setting the stage for a geektastic showdown with her current beau, Matt (Daniel Eric Gold).

Un-freakin-believable.  There’s more:

Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta confirms to me exclusively that Gorham — who’s currently trying to stay alive on CBS’ Harper’s Island — will reappear in the show’s two-hour season finale on May 21 when Betty runs into Henry and his new girlfriend Chloe (played by Gossip Girl’s Dream Walker) in the Big Apple. To prove to themselves that they’ve moved on, Betty and Henry agree to go on a double date to a Mets game with their respective significant others.

[Me] Uh…stammer, stammer, deer in the headlights look, stammer, stammer…

Horta says, "As Henry and Betty reconnect, it could potentially threaten her relationship with Matt.”  He adds that he’s "really happy" to have Gorham back in the fold. "Chris has always been, and will always be, part of the Ugly Betty family."

Horta will not say if Gorham will be back next season.

But, you know what?  This shows me that the producers have figured out where their bread is buttered.  Yes, this probably means a return to the “ship” wars (although the Matt fan club seems kind of lukewarm, at least based on the comments here).

Henry fans, out of nowhere, it seems, you have new hope.  Gio fans, this has got to be a double-edged sword.  On the one hand, you’ve got to be thinking “why not Gio (Freddy Rodriguez)?   On the other hand, this shows that the producers are open to the return of an old suitor.  The “single girl in the city” storyline is over.  Matt fans, if you weren’t here at the end of season 2, you have no idea what you’re in for.  All I can say is, fasten your seat belts.

I am absolutely gob smacked by this.  I THINK it’s a good thing, as long as it’s not a big tease.  I can’t wait to find out.

This last comment would make more sense if my first one wasn’t in the “awaiting moderation” zone. :)

  2. Timmeh!

OOOHHHH SNAP! Is correct. Seems like there will be seem real tension in this return. I am actually glad to see Henry insstead of Gio. Not that I didn’t like him, I just liked him MORE as Betty’s friend who helped her become stronger. Also, where exactly can I see the pictures of Henry’s NEW girlfriend? =/

  3. wooster

I promised myself I wouldn’t post because I don’t even watch the show anymore. But who am I kidding? We all know I have no impulse control…

On paper, bringing back Henry makes perfect sense. He was the longest important relationship she had. It was very intense. And she probably still does have feelings for him. I get the concept of bringing him back to create tension.

BUT IN PRACTICE? I realize there are several people who are very excited he’s back and I’m happy for them, but if you look around the web, most people seem intrigued but also put off. I’m the same way. I’ll probably tune in to see exactly where they go with this, but I’m already aggravated that they went in this direction.

I don’t think this is the beginning of a return to Henry in S4. I think it’s going to provide closure on the drama that was S2 and she’ll go off happily with Matt this time (and for the first time in all 3 seasons).

I think why Getty people are so upset is not because we want him back to add tension. I think we all know that Gio never meant as much to Betty as Henry did–and that’s okay. I mean, she didn’t know him as long and never had a chance to date him; how would he mean as much? We want him back to have that chance to mean more. AND more importantly, we want him back not for Betty, but because he added so much to the chemistry of the show that none of the other beaus–or most of the characters–have managed to do.

….And for the record on Jam…I’m on Team Toby…

  4. OMG-UB

Wooster, team Toby? I didn’t even know there were more than like 2 of you ;)
And what’s so different than the paper vs. practice versions? What you described as “on paper” sounds exactly how it will be in this episode. So why wont it work in practice?

  5. Devera

I’m actually started to get a spark of hope that this means that two seasons of writing Henry like he was Betty’s “end game” might not have been the writers not knowing what the heck they were doing. Maybe they let CG get settled with his new daughter and do “Harper’s Island”–which was always set up to be a limited series–knowing all along we would return for the big “What the–???” plotpoint at the end of this season. Or maybe they just miss all the Henry fans like me who stopped watching when they decided dropping Henry along with other plotlines was a mistake and hurt the nature of what the show is about. It’s a toss up.

I’ve caught two episodes this season (the Henry facebook one and another one after that), and Matt seems okay. As someone who was formerly very invested in Betty’s life and love life, I’m definitely more comfortable with knowing that Betty is with him than if the writers wrote her so out of character to be with Gio or Daniel. However, I did find it interesting that she oddly wasn’t enthusiastic about dating Matt–who seems like a real sweetheart–and had to kind of be talked into dating him to show that she was “over” Henry. I wondered at the time why the heck Henry was being brought up at all, basically having an entire episode devoted to him and that discussion with Justin, if she was so over him. Also, there is that H/B shipper hopeful in me that she told Henry she wasn’t ready to marry him–”yet.” (Read: Until the series ends and I become a first class editor of my own magazine? And Daniel hooks up with Hilda? Hey, I guess I do still have some feeling for these characters despite the year away! ;) ) I also thought it was interesting that his past immediately turned her off–it can be read either as that she is getting over womanizers to eventually be with Daniel, or that she is turned off by the idea of womanizers because they aren’t the kind that she is interested in “in that way.”

I hope that he’s back, and I hope they don’t get together too soon. I would love for Henry to have his own plotlines. Maybe something funny where he has to team up with Marc or something. He probably isn’t back for good, though–I’m trying so hard not to get my hopes up. :-/

  6. wooster

I don’t know how many Toby/Pam fans there are, but I’m pretty sure there are more than two. Three at least. :)

My point was that in theory, it makes sense to bring Henry back, but I don’t think Horta took into consideration whether the majority of people actually want him back. The biggest complaint from fans and critics last year was that there was too big of a focus on Betty’s love life and several fans (including critics) turned against Henry by the end. So, in practice, I think it will attract people into watching just to see what will happen, but I don’t think it will be successful because people won’t be happy with the outcome. Just because the storyline has come to fruition does not mean it is a good idea to carry it out.

  7. sniffles

I think the writers started setting up for Henry’s return when thay had the Facebook episode. I also thought it was kind if strange that they would suddenly mention Henry again after all this time. Although Betty told Matt that she was “over” Henry, I didn’t think so especially when we saw Betty contemplating about accepting to be his Facebook friend. Henry’s return will probably cause tension between Betty & Matt & test their relationship. We really don’t know how Betty feels about Matt, but Matt really cares about her and it will be interesting to see how he is going to react. Maybe within the next few episodes prior to Henry’s return we will see if they will be getting more serious. We haven’t heard the ‘L’ word yet. I don’t think Henry will be back permanently, but maybe to have some closure & resolve whatever issues they may have. I think Horta is trying to get everyone talking by having Henry return & “potentially” threatening Betty’s relationship with Matt. I’m really hoping that this won’t be another cliffhanger ending with another “relationship” decision. I’m guessing that she will end up with Matt as the show had “BIG” plans for Betty & Matt & the possibility that the actor playing Matt could become part of the regular cast next season. I wouldn’t mind seeing their relationship develop. (I don’t think we really know that much about Matt) Plus I don’t think CG wants to do this as a long-term thing as he would have commute back & fourth from CA like Ashley Jensen did.

  8. Devera

I’m sure Horta has more access than we do to the popularity numbers of Henry…and considering I still get tons of emails and comments from fan vids and fan fiction I made years ago from people I have never met asking me a) why the writers messed up the potential storylines they had for Henry, and b) why Henry had to leave the show…and c) the number who have told me they stopped watching the show or only watch sporadically because of a combination of story factors (including the way Henry’s two year plotline was abandoned)…I know he still has a substantial fanbase.

Many H/B fans feel bullied and picked on wherever they go by members of other shipping groups. Just because Henry fans often don’t post, doesn’t mean that the general viewership doesn’t care about him.

I do worry that they are just bringing him back for a ratings boost, or worse, to villify him. I lost my Betty glasses for this show that I used to have. The writers used to be able to do all kinds of things, including writing people like Daniel out of character or introducing Gio, and I would defend their actions as part of a longterm plan–I’m not quite ready to put my faith in them again, but I might be persuaded.

  9. BD

Now I’m sorry to sound harsh here but for all you people who are hoping for Gio and asking why not Gio, is because I agree that Gio was “a flash in the pan”. Herny has potential again and the whole facebook epsiode was making up for the very distasteful way they left him at the end of season 2/ begining of season 3.
I have to say though, as much I do like Matt (very cute in a “Josh Groban” way btw), but my heart is still with Sugarstick.
I for one am VERY happy to see him come back for the finale and make tension, and have a little bit of a mind clearer for Betty.
I just had that feeling too.
Sorry if I seem overly excited, but I am a Benry shipper and will be. Henry is what kept the show going for seasons 1 and 2 in my opinion.
    Let the games begin!!!!
    :)

  10. Tom

    I personally love Gio Bravo’s stream-of-consciousness rants. :)

To all the Benry shippers: I would go into this a a little guardedly. Silvio Horta could just be toying with you again. And I hate that, because every time he does, I usually lose a lot of readers. ;)

Considering the history of this show, no fan of any character, besides Betty, should feel safe about that chaaracter’s long-term future. Especially one of Betty’s romantic entanglements ;)

  11. Devera

Definitely, Tom. Many of us have been burnt before by the writers playing games, and not just on relationships, on other characters and plotlines that we’ve cared about–some out of ABC TPTB control, and others completely within their control.

Also, my friend Matt and I were discussing the fact that some of the things at the end of last year actually had us not trust *Betty’s* long term future. We felt they were going for the superficial makeover story and having MODE change Betty too much for the worse, versus what the show *should be* like–having Betty change the MODE folks for the *better*. We weren’t sure if we were watching a show about the same girl that we fell in love with season one who said “Then I win!” to Marc when she found out that there was no costume contest and brushed off their pettiness. Obviously Betty always has had some insecurities, and she will change and grow and become different, but we felt they were moving Betty to being un-Betty-like–she was becoming more like an Amanda, Daniel, or Marc. That actually disappointed us even more than the whole Henry decision, although we felt the problem was also entangled with the triangle drama.

We all appreciate this blog. I just haven’t had a reason to read it while I’m not watching the show. :)

  12. renata

Gosh, I love Gio, but I understand why he’s not coming back…

BUT I HATE HENRY, GAH! My only consolation when Gio left it’s that that freaking slug was leaving too! Damn! Now he’s returned?! I can’t stand it!

  13. Ally

Devera: “Many H/B fans feel bullied and picked on wherever they go by members of other shipping groups.”

    —–
The same can be said for many of us D/B shippers, as well. That’s why I think most of my ship members tend to stay at ‘home’ (the B&B site) and away from more ‘public’ UB arenas. Overall, I think it’s fair to say that all ships experience backlash at some point or another. Not just one particular ship in the UB fandom, but rather, all ships experience ‘trouble’ in some form or another.

Devera: “And Daniel hooks up with Hilda?”

    —–
LOL – that would be a pair more suitable for fanfic, don’t you think? After all, they haven’t shown any kind of connection on this show. In fact, they haven’t really shared any ‘real’ scenes since Season 1.

  14. Devera

In advance to everyone: sorry to digress from the finale…nothing on the finale to follow in this post!

Ally, I know what you mean, and it is too bad, because the nicest D/B shippers are often not the vocal ones. That is the problem with shipping, the nicest people on each side often just hide out in their comfort zones since they don’t like character bashing or ripping on people for their opinions on shows.

I know that the Hilda/Daniel shippers are not very well known, but I always held out a little bit of a hope for them. I haven’t watched much this season, but I do have a huge list of “in show” reasons and “clues”(?) about why Daniel and Hilda would be excellent as an end game pair from seasons one and two that I won’t get into here, since it doesn’t really matter and I’m sure most fans wouldn’t care. They always work well together when placed in the same area, and there are many instances of obvious chemistry between the two of them. Then there were all the Daniel and Santos parallels. If the writers were to go that way, I think the most obvious thing to do would to not have them in the same place alone too often, or then people would wonder why they hadn’t got together before–since if I’m right it really can’t happen until the end of the series. Another “hint” this season, if I’m right, is the fact that they are setting Daniel up to basically become a widower with the first woman he truly loves who reciprocates his feelings in an equal way–setting him up for yet another bond for understanding Hilda’s past. With Daniel and Hilda, one of them is always involved with someone else–and the whole awkward “I can’t date my sister’s boss/my assistant-friend’s sister” also keeps them from doing anything but squashing their (in my opinion) natural chemistry. All completely my opinion, of course, and not as well established in the show as other pairings for either of them (or for any of Betty’s potential pairings, for that matter)!

  15. Tomatish

“We weren’t sure if we were watching a show about the same girl that we fell in love with season one who said “Then I win!” to Marc when she found out that there was no costume contest and brushed off their pettiness. ”

I don’t think there is a statement about S3 Betty I could agree with more than this one.

  16. BD

    I agree with you Dev.
Yes the Henry situation is a big dissapointment for me, but also I agree that Betty’s growing is for the worse. i ahev said this and I will again, Betty is turning into a MODEgirl. She is not one of them. It dissapoints me so much and that is the huge reasons why this season , in my opinion, is not getting as much buzz and viewers as the previous seasons.
I still watch it regulary, but I’m still waiting on that “heart” the execs promised us before the season even started.

  17. Kelcy

I agree with you Tom regarding the Benry shippers. They shouldn’t read too much in what Horta said. Although he said that he was happy that CG was back & was part of the UB family, he is trying tease the Benry shippers to make it seem that he is coming back permanently. I think if they bring Henry back, it will seem like Betty is stepping backwards & will be going back to square one. I believe when everything is all said & done, Betty will end up with Matt.(after going through her emotional rollercoaster) Matt & Betty should have chance at a relationship and probably might have more at stake since they may have to deal with each other on the work front. I hope this is not going to end up
yet as another cliffhanger again like season 2 & we are left wondering AGAIN till the fall. I don’t know if I can take another carbon copy of season 2.
BTW, how long will Betty, Matt, & Marc be at YETI?

  18. BD

I have my hopes, but I am not keeping them too high. After reading a lot of these comments over, I do have my thoughts:
I totally 100% agree with Devera. I am SO EXCITED that they decide to bring Henry back for what looks like a last hurrah unfortunately, and I am also not looking forward to the possibility that it is just to vilify him. I feel for the Getty shippers out there with the one episode final bow type things, but I also am a Nerd Lover.
One of the main reasons why this season has not been as amazing to me as the last season was because they booted Henry off. I also think that I really haven’t put on my Betty glasses either while watching this season. It is just too disappointing to see the show go downhill like it has.
I do like Matt though. Yes is cute and I can see that he cares for Betty and defending him and also on the con-Detty argument, she liked him before she knew he was rich. And unfortunately I do not see how he is “Henry 2.0″. I just don’t. Yes, he does magazines like he did and he has his moments, but I really do not see a connection with them.
But of course, I have my preferences ;)
But again, all they talk about is “bringing back heart” like in the first season.
    Well…
    I’m waiting!!!!
I am excited though about the show coming back on!

  19. Timmeh!

After thinking about it, I think it would be a great idea for the writers of Ugly Betty to bring Fey Sommers back. We never really got that much proof that she was actually dead except for the news paper articles and what Claire said. Maybe Claire was drunk and just thought she killed Fey Sommers. Even Fey Sommers tomb was empty in Season 1, what was up with that? In season 2, I always somehow thought they would bring her back. It would be a wonderful cliffhanger and an even better plot development for season 4. Think about the plot lines it would create for Amanda and Claire. The season could even focus on a mystery sort of thing like in season 1 (With Alexis as the mysterious woman.)
Who else agrees that it would be wonderful for them to bring Fey Sommers back. We could then see Claire at her best! =D

  20. Gio_Bravo

Ok, here is where I see things just a little bit differently than some people: First off, that heart you’re looking for lies with one man. Giovanni Rossi. Simply put, he didn’t have to make time for Betty on her birthday with a horse-drawn carriage when Henry stood her up. He didn’t have to be there for her when she needed to pick up a chair with Daniel. Has Matt done either of those things? No. Has Henry? That fool is the reason why Gio *seized* the opportunity to make Betty’s birthday so good. Alexis knew this and Christina.
Do you think it was an accident that they were both involved with falling down the staircase?
No. It was a set-up. Who set them up? Only time will tell.

  21. Devera

It was nice of Gio to come in to save Betty’s night, and while other episodes have made me question how purely altruistic that decision was, there have been enough instances so I concede that in his own way he did have genuine feelings for Betty. They just weren’t reciprocated by Betty, and that is important in any relationship that is going to go anywhere.

I won’t argue for Matt, since I believe they are probably undermining that relationship intentionally and that he is providing a drama arc/foil for Henry (or Daniel, for those who ship that way). Who knows, though? I don’t want to step on the hopes of any Matt shippers.

If Henry hadn’t stayed with Charlie, mark my words, the Henry bashers would have said he was a terrible, heartless person who didn’t care about the fate of his future child. Henry hatred by some members online defies everything we have previously been shown about his character in the show (at least, so far–again, I hope they aren’t bringing him back just to villify him). Henry was erring on the side of caution, as someone who wanted the best for his future child. He called Betty multiple times telling her he loved her and his new plans; it isn’t his fault that dear Justin decided to bedazzle Betty’s phone so his calls weren’t going through and wasn’t taking his messages so Betty didn’t get his message. Henry showed up at her house with a large bouquet of her favorite flowers and camped out until she returned. Henry has always known how good he has had it when he has Betty, and he has always told her that. Hindsight is 20/20, and I’m not sure what he could have done in the situation that would have been better. Abandon Charlie against Betty’s express instructions? An early complaint about Henry that reappears time and again is that he is “too perfect”–but if he makes any little mistake, somehow pulls a Clark Kent instead of a Superman day, he is ripped to pieces by those that seem to be rooting for him to fail.

I personally root for all of the characters to make the right decisions and become better versions of themselves…well, letting some of them be the antagonists, though, to get their redemption in the end.

One of the many unfair portrayals of Henry online that are unjustified by the show is that Henry is a coward:
Henry is one of the few characters who can face down Wilhemina! Not once, but several times. He even suggested that they write a note to Wilhemina and not just Marc, and Betty was the one who said she wouldn’t because she was scared of Wilhemina. He was ready to do battle with Petra over her smoking in the building! He didn’t start a fight with Gio, but when Gio bullied him and made Henry think he was actually going to be punched, he finished it. (And then nursed Gio back to health…the guy doesn’t have a mean streak in his body). Henry willing to crawl through heating ducts to save the day!

Henry has also told off Charlie before, several times–his weakness was the “what if” there actually was something wrong with her. (The SLO who cried wolf and all that.) People also ignore that at the beginning of that episode, Henry very clearly stated that Betty was the most important person to him and that he would go with Betty on their weekend regardless. It was actually *Betty* who made the decision that he should stay with Charlie in case something was wrong. If someone is to blame for what happened, it was Betty and Justin’s bedazzler–but I don’t think the blame is on anyone. Sometimes things happen. Sometimes your prince doesn’t show up and you have to make do with someone else–a guy who you spend almost the whole date talking with Henry about. Funny that Betty tends to actually open up and talk with Henry, whereas she always talks with other boys about *Henry* on her dates. It’s like a part of her can’t help but realize she is settling when she is with someone else.

I think Henry has been unfairly portrayed in many online venues, mostly for shipping reasons (i.e. he does too have a sense of humor!–where did people get the idea that he was boring?), but I know that it is only my personal opinion and each sees in the show their own thing.

Hoping for the best for the finale. We’ll see. It should be nice to see Henry again, if they write him in character, no matter what happens.

  22. Deb

From Gio Bravo: “Ok, here is where I see things just a little bit differently than some people: First off, that heart you’re looking for lies with one man. Giovanni Rossi.”

    ——————
For some of you, maybe, but not for all of us. He can be “the heart” for some of you in fanfiction world, but on this show, he’s just a guy who came in and tried to charm Betty for a brief time. As for Matt, we’re still barely scratching the surface with that guy, so I think it’s pretty harsh that you’re already willing to pass judgment on him because he hasn’t brought a horse-drawn carriage for Betty or whatever.

By the way, you should consider this for a moment: If Gio had been on the show longer, then, logically, we would have eventually seen that he isn’t exactly picture-perfect Prince Charming either. (Not that he really was to begin with, but that’s another topic.) Think about it – the whole show operates on tension to keep things going. So, do you honestly believe that the writers would have ever given Gio and Betty a smooth ride if they had put them together as a couple? No way. Eventually, we would’ve seen problems arise with those two, just as they had before with H/B and just like they’re happening now with Matt and Betty. Perhaps we would’ve seen that Gio has a jealous, negative side that comes out…or something similar in nature. And to me, that would’ve been a fair move on the writers’ part, had it happened.

Honestly, you really can’t put Gio on a perfect pedestal over all other guys in Betty’s life, because that’s not realistic. In fact, NO ONE is perfectly sweet and charming all the time. He’s just as human as the next person, so I don’t think you should glorify him as “the heart” of the show. “The heart” really starts with Betty’s general storyline, and works its way down to all other characters.

  23. Beatrice B

Deb I love that last comment.
    #comment-27674
You sounded like a true Getty Girl. Actually. I love the Gio because he is far from perfect. Fanfiction writers have him as a great source of inspiration. you can write a romantic-Gio an evil-Gio a stubborn-Gio a selfless-Gio a selfish-Gio funny-guy-Gio. Whatever, The Guy is quite a flexible character and we love that.

I remember back when he came to the show, most people could point at his faults. Some people found that hateful but most of them found those faults quite charming… he seems “real” with them. You can’t take average stance with a character like Gio: You hate him, you love him and still you relate to him. He can’t be in “the pedestal” like an inmortal flawless God… but he is already at THE TOP of the list of Betty’s guys. At least from our perspective.
I am quite entertained by these witty dialogues (I really can’t participate in them…). But Gio_bravo you always amaze me with your clever posting. :)

“In fact, NO ONE is perfectly sweet and charming all the time” Thank God!!!! Those adjective are for Henry. Gio is spicy, sexy, witty, determined, argumentative, stubborn…

Thanks about reminding me Gio and Betty was “the heart” of the show. Remember back when we had this situation of the promotion of the final 5 episodes of last season? What Horta published? That they wanted to return to “the heart of Betty”? Yeah, they aired the most beautiful Getty episodes in that period. Gio was definitely “the heart”, wasn’t he?
Henry was “the angst”. But I do love angst… yeah, Gio was angsty too in the earlier episodes carrying his one-sided love for Betty.

*sigh* honestly. how are the ABC-UB people discarding this? The emotion, the passion of the scenes… Getty love is wonderful and quite inspiring. :) Okay I’ll puff out… i feel like writing today.

  24. Niobe

I personally don’t understand why people “hate” either one of these characters.

I’ve seen downright mean, nasty, hate riddled posts about Gio and I’ve seen the same for Henry. In my opinion, neither one of these guys have done anything to warrant such an attitude. Both have made their mistakes and have their annoying faults but some people downright act as if Gio or Henry ruined Betty’s life or something.

Keep in mind I’m not talking about the people here who just have a preference. I’ve just been looking around lately and have been a little shocked.

  25. Tomatish

Niobe, that’s just what happens when you have a love triangle. People just hate the other guy simply for being there and thus not letting their ship get through. I think it’s kinda silly to fill your life wit so much anger just for a tv show. But mind you, although I don’t hate Henry, I think he’s soooo boring. After all a tv show IS supposed to be entertaining ;)

  26. BD

    Dev:
    Thank you!
When I meant “heart” I meant the Season 1 heart they had…The first part of the season kinda felt like a pity party and just not that entertaining.
I diddn’t mean Henry. Yes it is part of it, but not all.
And yes, it is “heart” in our fanfic worlds also. We all have our opinions on how it should end or go, but all we really can do is watch and “Grin and Bear It” *ba da ting*. It’s not up to us. It is up to the executives…
Even though I WISH that they decide to do a fanfic for an episode…That would be HEAVEN!!!!
    lol

  27. Spark

OH. MY. GOSH. I love you Silvio! Henry was always my favorite guy in Betty’s life and I was absolutely shocked to see the spoiler pics with Henry…ahh! I’m so excited! I haven’t been watching since Matt came on, just because his whole storyline, his family, etc just bore the crap out of me. I would honestly rather have Betty going out with Gio rather than Matt…Matt’s like Henry but not funny or as cute and geeky.

Woo! The spoiler pictures with Henry and Betty are really confusing me because I’m not sure how this is going to end, but I was missing some cute Henry action :) I’ve been watching Chris play the other Henry over on Harpers Island but I just love him as Mr. Grubstick! I will definately be tuning in!

  28. Alexis

Im so happy christopher gorham is coming back. HE was my favorite betty love interest. Its just a little weird that his girlfriends name changed from Samantha to Chloe…unless its a different girlfriend

  29. Joanna Jurgens

Henry and Betty belong together. CG doesn’t have to be a regular – but they do need to have them end up together somehow.

I, for one, am looking forward to Henry’s return, provided he isn’t vilified and dumped all over the way he was last season. It’s perfectly possible that this is a one-episode deal just to end his run on the show for good, which is better than the 10-second kiss-off he got at the beginning of the season. If a recurring character like Gio can get a whole episode dedicated to him leaving, the “slug”, who was a regular on the show and Betty’s ACTUAL boyfriend deserves at least a sendoff just as good.

    Sincerely,
