Honor Marie Pictures - 6th Most Expensive

opinionBeing involved in the real estate market, I always hear that a “house is only worth what people are willing to pay for it,” and it that is the case, can you believe that people are paying millions for “exclusive first photoshoot” of baby X or baby Y? Furthermore, could you believe that raking $1.5Million for your baby photos would “only” rank you at 6th place?!?

A recent article from Forbes.com researched this phenomena and explains why these magazines go ga-ga when a new celebrity-baby is being born. OK! magazine Deputy Editor Rob Shuter explained: “First off, they sell magazines–job No. 1 for publishers. A heavily hyped exclusive typically sells an extra 300,000 to 500,000 copies. Some do even more: The buzz-worthy Shiloh cover sold 800,000 more than usual.” Shuter thinks that “anybody that looks at it as just a one-week phenomenon has missed the real point,” he explained. “It’s branding. It’s publicity. It’s marketing.”

Many claim that after we are so used to seeing these guys putting a strong front in movies, the opportunity to see them in their private moments and places is priceless but can anyone be so obsessed with obtaining such view into their personal lives?

How did you feel about seeing Jessica’s OK! Magazine first baby shoot? Could you have lived without it?
