Here’s why:
pregnant Nicole Richie checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood Thursday to serve a 90-hour sentence for driving under the influence of drugs. She was arrested in December after California Highway Patrol officers found her parked car turned in the wrong direction on a freeway, authorities said.
The reality show star entered a county jail for women in Lynwood shortly after 3 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnie Jones said. Richie was to serve a four day sentence, but a sheriff’s spokesperson says Richie is expected to be released from jail within 12 hours, for time served and good behavior.
It’s the same facility that housed her “The Simple Life” co-star Paris Hilton for nearly three weeks after she was convicted of driving on a suspended license while on probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
Wow! Hey, could you tell me how you get away with this many DUI’s and only get 12 hours of jail? I mean, gosh gee whillikers! Lindsay, Paris, and Nicole are pretty much the poster children for American justice at this point, aren’t they!
