Back in early January, John Travolta and Kelly Preston lost their son Jett, who was only 16, while they were on vacation. The whole story just shook me and I have been wondering how the family is doing ever since. It is obvious they are such a loving family and adore their kids. I just can’t imagine how to deal with a tragedy that big.
PEOPLE Magazine has a cover story about how John and Kelly are coping with everything. Their daughter, Ella Bleu, just celebrated her ninth birthday on April 3rd and the couple threw her a party, just like they normally would.
Friends of the couple are saying that they are slowing letting the world back in and reaching out to those they are closest to.
"They aren’t secluding themselves or paralyzed," says the family friend, who saw them recently. "[Seeing them] was like old times. Nothing awkward and no topics to dance around. There were smiles."
