Faithful reader, Bev, sent me some links to Anthony Callea of Australian Idol (season 3, I believe) and I was blown away. I think he is fabulous. Today he will face off against Anthony Federov but he will also square off against Clay Aiken on Friday.

I am a huge Anthony Callea fan. Have his cd’s and a video of every song he did on Australian Idol. Probably the best male singer I have ever heard on any Idol show.
There are Guy Sebastian face offs where you can support him. This face off is between Anthony Callea and Anthony Federov only.

Anthony Callea for me. He has a glorious voice, and he’s the best singer in the business bar none.

Anthony Callea was in Australian Idol 2 and he certainly blew everyone away with his gorgeous, gorgeous voice!

I don’t agree that Anthony Callea gave this song ‘kind of a country flavour’. I don’t hear that at all in his performance of this song, and maybe he’d be surprised to hear that too altho’ I doubt that he’ll ever know! I think this performance of Anthony’s is brilliant. I love the range of his voice and his voice control. He’s also a very versatile singer and sings in a number of genres. Supporting him all the way.
I love the tone of Anthony Fedorov’s voice and he is to this day my favorite American Idol contestant. Anthony Callea is an amazing singer, although I thought he gave this song kind of a country flavor, rather than pop.
I thought this was actually one of Anthony Fedorov’s weaker performances. Listen to his “Incomplete” and “I Surrender” Idol performances to hear his best. He is a really gifted singer.
Anthony Federov is a cutie, but Anthony Callea has a better voice. My vote goes to the Aussie.

He has such a beautiful voice and the widest vocal range I’ve ever heard from the pop singers.

Why did they do that. Oz Idol did it two years ago and removed all of Anthony Callea’s and others from Youtube, and took with it all the history, which was so annoying. Then a year ago they realised it was a good promotional tool for the show and for the artists and don’t seem to worry about it now.
Look at the Global fame that Paul Potts received instantly all because of Youtube, I wished it was around when Anthony Callea blew the nation away when he sang The Prayer.
Oh, well, American Idol did a sweep today and removed a lot of their videos, including Anthony Fedorov’s. Again.
Oz Anthony for me. His gorgeous voice is breathtaking.
The US Anthony wins this one.
